Question:
Hey,
I was wondering if you guys knew how to make custom t-shirts? I am looking to make some music t-shirts. How do you take the logo and place it on the t-shirt? ( I know its illegal but it would only be for personal use)?
Any help would be appreciated
Answer:
You'll need to read up on silk-screening, type "how to silk screen a shirt" into Google and you'll get some good results like this:

There are several ways to create the screen. If it's a complex design you can use the photo emulsion method which is what I use. It's not the easiest method but when done right you get really great details.
You can buy a starter kit at an arts or hobby store for about $30. Don't skimp out on the ink - cheap ink looks like crap.
P.S. - if anyone knows where I can score some REALLY soft and tall/long blank shirts (think Dior soft) please let me know... I've got a few designs I want to print up.

Hooked on it now, aren't ya?

Iron on transfer paper is always an option....

Brett, maybe fok (or anyone else familiar) can tell you where jay allen sourced his blanks (if you weren't around yet, he was a tshirt designer who sold stuff through here, but quit the biz). The jay allen shirts I have are the softest I own.

How about how to make a button-up shirt yourself? That always seemed like it would be an awesome project - insanely difficult for a novice, but a fun challenge.

^ Dude, did you even read his post? He's talking about screenprinting, not sewing.

Answer:
Did you read the post that I quoted?
Answer:
I'd settle down a bit; from reading his post, it seems like he IS talking about sewing. Seems like screenprinting a buttonup shirt would be no harder than screenprinting a tee, but constructing a buttonup would be worlds harder than sewing a simple tee.
Answer:
whatever.
If you read the original post, he's looking for information about printing a band's logo onto a t-shirt.

Yes, me too, want to make my own cheap Tee :marchal:
Answer:
Well if you find any good material, let me know. I'd be interested in making my own tee's as well! I've been dealing with reconstructing existing tees lately.
