Question:
When you're getting dressed, how do you decide which belt to wear with designer jeans? (anything besides shoe color?)
Answer:
Ummm...shirt? Whatever else I'm wearing?
Not sure what you mean.
Answer:
i pretty much do one of the following
1. don't wear a belt
2. always wear a narrow light brown/caramel colored belt that pretty much goes w/ everything - a dark brown is even more universal, but the lighter color gives the overall attire more pop IMO without being too overbearing
Answer:
for me it depends on color matching of course
but sometimes comes down to size/thickness of the belt and buckle to the pants and the shirt going over or under it... some of my jeans are thin so i don't like a heavy chunky belt, or if a shirt's going over then it'll pull or show through the shirt... that's just me.
Answer:
I have about a dozen belts, most of them different shades of brown, from grey/brown (think the color that Drkshw uses) to orange brown, and in different styles and thicknesses. I pick the outfit, and then the belt to match. Sometimes, I pick the belt, an then the jeans and outfit to match. Sometimes, a bit of both. Okay, I admit, I don't really understand the question either.
Answer:
Sorry for being unclear. I'm just trying to understand, "how do the fashion conscious pick their belt in the morning?"
Answer:
Why besides shoe color? The answer is shoe color.
Answer:
I thought we wore premium, not designer denim ;-)
There was a "does the belt always have to match the shoes" debate on here a while ago and I think the answer everyone settled on was that they don't have to be the same color/shade but they do have to flow with the outfit.
So yeah, it's more than just the jeans - you've got to consider the shoes, top pieces, accessories like watches, bracelets and necklaces, etc....
Answer:
I like to use whichever belt I used to beat my girl with last night. I feel like the tears give it that little extra bit of suppleness which just makes my day as I buckle it on in the morning.
I think of it as distressing through love.
Answer:
Pretty easy for me. I honestly don't give a shit about belts, so I just headed to H&M and bought two thick belts that scream jeans; one black and one brown.
Brown shoes: Brown Belt
Black or white shoes: Black Belt
Answer:
Get a black belt and then if anyone looks at you funny just karate their ass.
Answer:
I have three jeans belts: black and smooth, dark brown and "rugged," and light brown/tan and smooth. My black shoes are all a bit on the dressier side, and my brown shoes vary between tan suede loafers and distressed brown boots. Based on the overall aesthetic of the outfit, I choose a belt (unless black plays a big role, in which case only one choice).
Answer:
+1
i was always of the opinion that a belt should match your shoes, and that if the two match it should usually go with the rest of your outfit also.
some will wear a belt with shoes that don't match and call it edgy, but this reminds me of guys who wear pink because "tough guys wear pink".
Answer:
raw leather belts match with match with alot of colors.
Answer:
