Question:
I'm about to purchase my final pair of raw denim for awhile. I've narrowed it all down to these two pair of jeans. The Fulton 50 or RB6 (the ones on brigade)? Which one would you guys recommend and why?
Answer:
the 50 is the line dry, right?
I like the ES fulton line dry, but that's mostly because I like the fulton cut. the denim itself is good, but not great. plus, the line dry is "wrinkly", which some people may not like.
Answer:
yes, the ES50 is not dry denim, it's line dry, resin washed. i own the fultons and they fit very nicely. the wrinkly pretty much go away after a few "heavy" wears.
the RB6 is a lot baggier, seeing as how it's supposed to be a 'relaxed" fit. IIRC all RB jeans are also 1 wash/resin.
Answer:
ES Denim is pretty mediocre. Supposedly RB has gone downhill (?), but the RB15 I have from a couple seasons ago are much nicer than my ES Hutch.
Answer:
i thought the line dry was a one wash, but no resin.....
as for the wrinkles, i've had this particular pair since late last year, and have worn them somewhat consistently. maybe 25-30 wears and 3 or 4 washes, and the wrinkles are still there.
Answer:
The denim will probably be nicer on the RB6, but I much prefer the cut of the Fulton's and would go with those.
Answer:
i'm not sure but i *think* the salesperson at the boutique i bought them from told me they were resin-washed, however i am not an expert on what is/isn't resin washed, so you probably are correct.
i've worn my probably 40+ times, and i've never washed them, only took them to a dry cleaner's once, and now i can't even tell that there were wrinkles to begin with. maybe the washing renews the wrinkles?
Answer:
I used to wear a bunch of baggy jeans before discovering raw denim and this forum, so I think it would be interesting to have a baggy pair to fade. However the stitching color of the ES look attractive to me too. Speak your minds in here. I'm open for any other suggestions too.
Answer:
well, if you want baggy, go with 5ep. you can find them from our affiliates, or revolveclothing.com
fulton is not a baggy fit, it's a fitted jean, the RB6 may be better suited. and like i said before, they are not raw denim. the ES is half selvage, the RB6 is full selvage (but pricier)
Answer:
What's the difference between half selvage and full? I heard one washes are harder to fade.
Answer:
The fits on the two jeans are totally different.
Answer:
It's just the way the selvage is patterned from the cloth, so that they end up in the jean. The denim is full selvage, but usually manufacturers using selvage denim arrange the seams so that both the from and back part of the denim leg has selvage on the outside, such that the outside leg seam has selvage.
ES cuts it a little different - only one of the front or back has the selvage seam, and the rest of the selvage is used to make the waistband.
Answer:
Only one leg will carry the selvage on ES? I'll go find a picture.
Answer:
No, only one side of each outside leg seam.
Answer:
With the help of a picture on google I understand what you guys mean now. Thanks.
