What was your first pair of trendy/and/or/fashionable kicks. Sneaks and Shoes. This thread should induce some memories from waaaaaaaaay back.
I think my first pair of sweet sneakers was a pair of red and off-white Tigers I got online in 2002. I had to return them TWICE to get the right size. Pain in the ass but it was worth it because they have held up, still look good and I still wear them.
The first pair of trendy shoes I got was a pair of Ben Sherman Clactons which I paid an outrageous sum for and sold soon after on eBay for a fraction of the cost. They were uncomfortable and just didn't match my wardrobe very well. Not all stories can have a happy ending...

A pair of Prada sport sneakers in about 1998 (the above poster makes me feel old because I was in college...). This was way before they became chavalicious and before Prada's days of massive debt which lead to quality cutbacks, back when they were actually quite subtle and well done (yes, they had a red stripe on the bottom, but aside from that no logo-ing).
I actually still have them and they aren't in terrible shape. ON the other hand, I received a gift of another pair in 2004 or so and they've already fallen apart. Oh well, the good ole days...
