5EP x here round II: chinos. Ideas sought

Question:
Alright guys, another chance to play designer. This is an exploratory thread, and Godmother, Mauro and I will begin to sift through ideas once we gauge the response to the 5EPxhere jeans (look for more info soon.) Let's here them.
I personally like military style combat chinos, with flapped hip and back pockets, so your keys don't fall out while you are fighting Steven Segal hand-to-hand.
Answer:
Black.
Answer:
1. I'd like multiple color choices.
2. Slimmer but not tight fit.. something in line with Incotex for the European market, Margiela or Mason's.
3. I vote for flap pockets as well - I've seen some Adam Kimmel that I feel were pretty well done.
4. 100% cotton, of course. Flat front. (Probably unnecessary to even mention these two)
5. Something to make them different? Perhaps contrasting MOP button flies or something of that nature. Still appropriate for a business casual work environment, with some details that make them decidedly SF/5EP-designed.
6. Unfinished hem.
7. Sizing in-line with jeans production. I will probably need a 38 if they're slim fitting.
Answer:
I'd like a military surplus style, like Bill's does, with heavy cotton and a button fly, but in a slimmer, more modern cut with lower rise than found on old military chinos.
Answer:
buckleback, like the 40s style khakis. The only one to do this that I know of is a Japanese maker who's link I cant seem to recall at the mo'
grey
*I've never owned chinos/khakis so this would be a first if it works out with the fit
Answer:
Dark Khaki color. That way it can be paired with any color shoe and any color top. Also, a good boot cut shape would be sweet.

Answer:
slim leg. flaps would be great. buckleback would be interesting as well
the only color i really wouldn't buy is black, i can't do black pants, too much like wait staff
Answer:
I like this idea very much (particularly the button fly). I also love the Bill's on seam front pockets, but I don't know if that's as do-able when you go with a slimmer cut. I actually just bought a pair of the Bills M3, which is a slimmer cut, but has a zipper fly and 3/4 front pockets. Also, I like deep front pockets.
I prefer a straight leg to a boot cut or slim leg, and flat front. I also like the interesting linings that Hickey Style uses in their khakis (though this is a minor detail). I assume we're talking about cotton twill.
Edit: khaki color
Answer:
Interesting colors that are still neutral. The typical "khaki" color is kind of dorky, and olive green and navy are very commonplace. Maybe some shades of brown/grey/taupe/etc.
Answer:
a rusty burgundy color would get me all over this, not that anyone else would buy it
a taupe color sounds good too.
or greyish browns. maybe some brownish greys
Answer:
There is little to no chance that this will be slim enough for my chicken legs, but I like the idea of vintage details (ie buckleback) with a modern slim low-rise cut & straight leg.
I'm down with grey too.
Answer:
Bluish gray or bluish brown
I think they should have flap pockets but the type where the flaps can be tucked in so they look like khakis that dont have flaps. Button flies. Buckle back would be cool too. Unhemmed. Some cool pocket lining.
Answer:
Suspender buttons. Who's with me?
Answer:
2-2.5 inch cuffs would be great. Engineered Garments had some really nice chinos this past season, buckle back, short inseam, but the cuff was a little wimpy.
Answer:
No cuffs. Plus, flat front with cuffs?????
