Question:
I'm a big button-fly stickler and with the summer taking full swing I need some shorts. I'm sort of open to different styles, so long as they're not very big (hit above the knee and slimmish). Any thoughts or recommendations? Online links would be great.
Thanks,
Dan
Answer:
Cotton BDU shorts from your friendly neighborhood surplus store. :)
Answer:
IIRC, RRL shorts all have button fly. They hit right at the knee, and aren't too slim but you could achieve the same effect by rolling a 1" cuff.
They goes for about $40 on eBay; just do a search and pray something in your size pops up.
Answer:
Express (yes, I know! but they fit great and feel indestructible) has some last season. I actually find the buttons annoying but willing to put up with them because of the fit.
Answer:
Trovata, though I'm not sure if they have quite the profile you're looking for this year.
Answer:
Another "yes, I know" but the Gap has some really nice shorts. I have a pair of Gap lightweight chino shorts (size down 1-2 due to vanity) that I really enjoy.
I think a couple of Diesel's - the Pingre probably does. However, I got the Gap ones because they were like the Pingre but a full $100 less. :)
Answer:
I think AF has button-fly shorts. I know that the Ezra Fitch line from a year or two ago had button fly chino shorts.
But I'd go with BDU's. If you are lucky you might be able to find some older Levi Strauss Officer Chinos(The precursor to button fly Dockers) on ebay or in a thrift store which you could cut off or have altered.
I usually just cut off my chinos and put a hem in them when i need shorts.
Answer:
i just picked up a few pairs of shorts at H&M an hour ago that all had a button fly.
