Question:
I recently sold my KMW 1980 due to the fact they were too slim, mostly in part due to the fact I sized down one and they really didn't stretch much. Anyway I'm looking at the ES Fulton 50 and the Hutch 107 from DB's website. I like the lower rise of these, but wondered how they fit in the thighs. For reference, I have RRDS and 5EP ldb in size 30, and SDA-103 in size 31. They all fit quite well. If I go 31 on either ES, will I be ok? And also, what is the hem on the Hutch, around 9 ish? Thanks....
Answer:
I wear the RRDS in 30, and the 31 Fulton is the right size for me, including through the thigh. I'm selling the 31 Fulton I bought, though, because the low rise doesn't work for me (see signature for sale thread if interested).
Answer:
just curious Stylin-1, what size did you have in KMW 1980? I have the 5ep LDB rigid in size 30 too, and am considering the KMW. Just don't know which size...
Answer:
If the 5EP LDB rigid fits you well, go for a size 31 in the KMW 1980. Be aware that although the waist will be similar, the rise will be lower, and the fit in the top block tighter.
Answer:
thanks LA Guy. so my sizing will be:
APC NS: 29
5ep LDB Rigid: 30
KMW 1980: 31
i like the linear increase...
Answer:
Dead on. Mine were 30's and although I could wear them, I just wasn't all that comfortable in them. Oh well, as high quality as they are, I still wasn't too crazy about the huge, low pockets.
Answer:
To the OP: I would go with the 31 in the ES. I tried on the KMW 1980 in a 31 and they fit well, and that's the size I have for my RRDS, but when I got a pair of Fulton 50s I got a 32. For some reason, these started tighter than my Fulton 06. I like the wash on the Hutch 107, but can't stand the bootcut, a bit big for my liking. Also, I know DB gives 20 off, but I was told once that they make a raw Fulton, and I believe it's only sold from the company store.
Answer:
How large is the bootcut, around 9"?
Answer:
Thanks for the input. I would consider purchasing yours, but in the event they don't work out for me, I want the option to return them. If worse comes to worse, I may just end up buying another RRDS. How low is the rise, 9.5?
Answer:
Stylin-1:
Front rise is about 9.75. The part that I don't like is the short fly, approximately 5 inches. Anything less than a 6 or 7" fly looks ridiculous on me, for whatever reason.
Answer:
I think so. I don't like bootcuts at all, though, as they are very baggy on me around the lower leg.
Answer:
I think I might be leaning toward the Hutch now. I do wear my Frye Brandos quite a bit, so I don't really mind the bootcut. Anyone know the best deal on the Bette or the Maz Dark? Also how do these two washes compare, or should I just go with the 107???
Answer:
Yea, the Bette is a great wash, I wished it came in the Fulton. Do you live near a Bloomingdales? I saw some of the Hutch Bette on sale there about a week ago.
Answer:
The fulton is not really slim, I would call it normal cut. Mine are about 1" bigger than tagged. I would go 30, most of my jeans measure 31
Answer:
Speaking of Sewns I figured I should share the wealth.
