tod's drivers

Question:
I am going to get my first pair of Tod's driving moccasins and I had two questions.
1. Leather or suede?
2. How long will they last with biweekly use if each day I use them its for 5-6 hours?
Answer:
I have black and brown leather drivers. I think either or is fine but suede and summer don't really go together IMO. The concrete and little rubber nubs don't go well together either if you're going to be walking in them outside alot. You will wear the heels down rather quicky. That's why I have two pair and alternate them. I probably wear them about the same as you and maybe even less. But great looking shoes nonetheless.
Answer:
i think leather is a little more dressy. i have suede ones and depending on what i wear them with they can look like house shoes or moccasins.
Answer:
I like leather better myself. I would also consider one of their shoes with a real sole that has the same upper as the driver (I've seen these sometimes) because you won't have to worry nearly as much about wearing them out.
Answer:
I have a pair in black leather and although they look great, they are extremely painful to walk in for an extended period of time due to the lack of cushioning. Guess they're really only intended for driving.
Answer:
I was about to get a pair or drivers, but the wear on the heel turned me off them. Instead, I got a Tod's loafer that has nubs on the front part of the sole, but a solid heel. So far they're great.
