Hey guys! Tall newbie here needing help...

Question:
Hey. I've lurked the forum periodically and noticed you guys have style. The denim you guys wear looks great. I thought this was the best place to ask for help in my situation.
Before I start, my main questions are: what are a bit of the cheaper brands that sell denim in a 36" inseam? With that, I bought a pair of Sambas to start off my look. I really don't know the best jeans to suit this type of shoe. I want my jeans to be a tiny bit baggy but not too slim as well.
I have never been successful in buying jeans. I have probably spent about $200 in cheaper jeans to see if they worked out to no avail. Part of the fact is I am tall (6'2"-6'3") with only a size 10 shoe. The stores that I have been to (only a couple of malls) only have a 34" inseam.
The closest I have gotten to decent jeans were the levi's 514's I bought for cheap. The thing is, they feel... cheap. They are slim straight but when I try them with my samba's, they are a bit too short and don't blend in with the shoe well.
Before I drop another penny in any type of clothes, I just needed some help so I won't make the same mistake over and over again. Thanks.
Answer:
Ande Whall on sufu has larger inseams available. $170
LVC(levis vintage collection) has inseams that would work for you as well. $175ish
APC New Standards have a 36 inseam and are $110 from denim bar
On all jeans, if the inseam is fine at the moment or you want them a half inch longer, be sure to pull good on the leg of the jeans while standing on the waist after you soak/wash them and then let them hang dry. Should help preserve or slightly lengthen your inseam.
Answer:
why are you dead-set on the 36" inseam? We are the same size and a 34" inseam works fine for me. I understand wanted a slightly baggy look but for that wouldn't you look more towards a more relaxed fit rather than a slim cut with extra length? Or maybe a bootcut if it's just the way the shoes fit that matters
Chronoaug is right about the stretching too, it helps!
For example (and I don't mean to make this a "let's look at photos of Brett" thread but I think it would help explain my point):
APC New Cures (the skinniest jeans I own) 31x35 - obviously not what you are looking for, but a reference point: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...s/IMG_1791.jpg
ACNE Max in 32-34. The Mics are looser but since we are skinny it's not as bad as most people. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...s/IMG_1801.jpg
These are the H&M sliqs in 31x36, the low-rise model. They will shrink 5% in the wash: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...s/untitled.jpg
These are Earnest Sewn Fultons (straight leg) in 33x34 but slightly tightened in a hot soak. I'm actually selling these for $50 if you like them http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ist-height.jpg
Answer:
a 36" inseam sounds about right for a 6'3" individual. i'm 6' and prefer a 34". 32" looks fine when standing but when i sit down shows a few inches of sock - something i prefer in dress pants but i think looks rather ducky in jeans.
Answer:
Yes this is the same reason why I would like to look into 36's. The only source of denim right now for me is the mall. Every 34" I wear/buy, this happens while sagging them a little bit.
The jeans you have shown me have the look that I am going for. If the jeans you have shown me are "relaxed", then that is the way I will go. What am I asking for when I go online to buy some jeans to get this type? Are these straight leg and slim? Or relaxed and tapered? The main goal I am going for is not making the mistake of buying jeans I do not want after 3 days.
Answer:
Samurai 510XX or 5000VX for a slimish fit.
I'm 6'6" and will never buy from another company. I, like you, have hated every pair I have ever purchased until now.
Answer:
samurais are fantastic as long as you are ok with paying that much (just for the record, they are worth it, just look at the denim photo thread!L
which of the jeans i showed you did you like the best? maybe we can reccomend something based on that
Answer:
Max and Sliq.
I don't want to spend TOO much on denim. Maybe around $150-$200 max. And thanks for helping out guys!
Answer:
Well, the Sliqs' cost about $40 so maybe they could be your "test" jeans? I would not buy them for quality though....quality and H&M don't seem to go together for me.
The Acne Max will cost about $160 if you order from Denim Barn (normally they are $208 but you get a 20% here member discount) and are a much higher quality pair of jeans. I've heard they wear/distress slower than APC and Nudies but I'm only on my 3rd week of my pair so I don't know.
I'm sure that there are other brands you would be interested in, especially the Japanese Denim. There are plenty of guys on this site who are experts so I'd recommend reading the "Pics of your Denim"thread too.
Answer:
Well, just FYI on the price issue, you can sometimes get lucky and find a gently used pair of sams for around $200 in the buy/sell market on here or SuFu.
