Starch on shirts?

Question:
I have some nice button down shirts but the collars kind of stick out and it's pretty annoying when I try to wear a v-neck sweater with it. I've never heard of people using starch on anything else but jeans. I was wonderin, would it work/be okay to be used on shirts? I don't want to just head down to my local walgreens, buy a can of starch and just ruin my shirt :(
Answer:
Yo, denimhead!
Most people use starch on shirts rather than jeans. What part of the jeans do you starch the most? [insert self-abuse jokes here]
Starch will stiffen any fabric but is not good for it generally. Use as little starch as possible to keep your collar where you want it.
