Question:
Okay, heres my situation.
I don't like going to church with my aunt anymore because she goes to this one church where the mass is super long like 3 hours... After it's over, they all got a bunch of church friends they chat with also. It takes up too much time. On top of that, it takes half an hour to get there and half an hour to get back. 4-5 Hours every week.
How do I tell her that I don't want to go with her anymore from now on? I'm too chicken to say it because it'll be awkward everytime we meet if she thinks of me as the guy who doesn't like to go with her. It's not that easy because my grandparents also go with her and I don't want to disrespect them. I'm too chicken to say it...
How do I say this is the best way possible? Cause if I use the I'm busy with school work excuse... I'm not sure if it's good enough to make me stop going to church with them forever.
*sigh*
Answer:
Tell her you've decided god doesn't exist and if she continues to pressure you to go to church you will perform your satanic rituals in front of her.
In all seriousness tell her the truth. If shes a good christian she will understand that pressuring people into going to her church is unreasonable.
Answer:
tell her you that you love going church with her but 4-5 hours is too much.. be honest.. tell her you would be more comfortable attending a different church..
if this fails, then tell her you are a reborn buddhist.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Answer:
if it's THAT bad...you wouldn't have trouble tolerating it... deal with it or just tell her. your two options.
-g.h.
Answer:
auntie I've converted to atheism.
I didn't think that was possible.
Answer:
just tell her that you want to go to a different church with your friends. You're your own person and need to find the church that fits best for you. And then either go to a different church or don't. She won't know whether you do or not. I hope you strongly consider atheism though.
Answer:
Okay, I guess I'll have to tell her straight out.
I plan to still go to church once in a while on my own time but not every week.
Hmm...
How's this:
Hey aunt, I've had a lot of school work to do lately so I don't think I can go to church with you anymore. I'll go whenever I have time by myself.
Is that okay?
Answer:
Say you have to study for school.

Or you can say God spoke to me. He said 'church is not for you, for you are much too enlightened'.

Haha, alrighty.
Answer:
Well it all comes down to whether you believe or not. If you don't, church is pointless for you anyway. If you do, then tell the truth. First find out why this church isn't for you and whether you have the proper mind set when attending church. Then if it's that drastic, find another church.
Before you convert to another religion, think through why you don't think Christianity is for you. You can't just convert because you don't like going to church with your aunt.
Answer:
Tell her that you can't afford the time anymore.
Answer:
lol why is everyone being so cynical and sarcastic? o.O
anyways. well... just tell her that you'd be more comfortable attending another church .. and tell her reasons in a more.. euphemistic way i guess. im sure she won't mind that much... =]
Answer:
You should at least go once a week or something.
But as long as you're not technically lying to her? It's fine.
Answer:
i think being honest is the best.
Find a church that you would like to attend first and then tell her that you would go with her once in a while but in the meantime i would like to attend a different church because it's closer and/or mass doesn't take as long, etc.
Answer:
Maybe you should make some more church friends.
