Have You Ever Been Accused At Work?

Question:
This is my experience...
I work at the Child Development Center at school as a Teacher Aide. I'm a work study student. I have been working there since November 2005-present. During the afternoon swift, I cleaned the kitchen, clean the classroom, clean the bathroom, and diaper change. I also play with the kids as well.
Yesterday, we have a lot of kids so the head teacher and non-work study teachers took the kids to the playground. I was the only one in the classroom cleaning up before I would leave at 4:00pm. I finished cleaning so I decided to sign out and leave at 3:50pm.
Today, I walked into work and I got the coldest glared from the morning staff. I do not work in the morning, only the afternoon. However, that day I was asked a week earlier from my boss to come in at 11:00am to work because my boss has a dentist appoinment out of town. I agree to come that day, because I needed the money.
I know a few staff from the morning swift because I used to work in the morning for one semester. The girls were all giving me cold glares. Of course, being myself I have to ask them what did I had done wrong? Linda the tall blonde was like Don't act so innocent....
So I got quiet and forgot about it. Later, Mr. Popo shows up and questioned all the staff....morning and afternoon as well.
I was the last one to be questioned and the longest.
They ask me questioned like Why did you took the money? or Where is the money now? etc.
Basically, Mr. Popo explained that my boss's $500 was stolen yesterday at the time I was in the classroom. I was the only one in the classroom so it has to be me. He say that someone took the $500 dollars from my boss purse. Everybody was out side and that makes me the prime suspect.
I do not understand and ask them.
Of course, I had cry the entire 2 hrs of questioning from Mr. Popo and his partner.
They told me that if I confessed nothing bad will happened. Of course, I say I didn't do it so I wouldn't know.
I never steal once in my life.
PUNISHMENT#1- I can not return to work because its under investigation and I'm the prime suspect until futher noticed.
I honestly, do not know what to expect from Mr. Popo and his partner.
But they did tell me that the other co-workers are saying that I was the only one in the classroom at that time. It is true.
They also says that I'm really nice and I'm so polite as well as I have good manners. I follow directions really well and everyone just seem to trust me because I'm so open-minded. Basically, I'm too good to be true.
I'm really worried and this has never happened to me before. I do not know what to expect at all.
If you are a work study student do you know what will happened?
Please tell me what is your experience and what did you do?

Answer:
Yeah, customer's fault too. He had a problem. He pointed to me and was like, SHE was the girl who helped me, when I was on BREAK. Unfortunately breaks are paid so we didn't punch in/out, so I didn't really have proof. I got documented.
Answer:
Wow, that's tough. I think I can relate to you. I have been accused at work before too. I work at a movie theatre and the employees often steal money through refunds there. Well the head of security there decided to look at the video cameras and found a few people stealing hundreds dollars x_x So they interrogated them. Anyway, in one of those interviews, my name came up. So the next week, my boss asked to see me and ended up suspending me as well. During my suspension, they went through all the cameras and finally realized that I wasn't a part of the stealing.... It all sucked. Even after I came back, with my name cleared, people still gave me looks. It's been a few months since the incident and most have forgotten about it. I just kept my mouth shut. No one ever really asked me about it. But anyway, I hope your accusation gets cleared up. Just don't worry too much about it. I'm sure it'll be fine. Good luck with everything!
Answer:

Answer:
One time at Target, this customer asked me where she could try on some clothes.
So I kindly gave her directions to the dressing rooms.
But as it turned out, she walked into the MEN'S room and made a bit of a ruckus.
The lady was so embarrassed and angry that she immediately sought out a manager to complain and they even went clear across the store to find me in the electronics section.
The manager confronted me and yelled for like a good minute and then threatened to fire my ass right in front of the lady and all the other customers.
I just replied, Dude, you can't fire me. Just because I'm wearing a red shirt doesn't mean I actually work here. How the hell was I to know where the dressing rooms were. I was just trying to help.
Then I turned around and continued shopping.
Answer:
^ LOLOL. the manager must've been embarassed .
i just started my first job & its nerve recking.. i hope i dont
get accused of anything =_=
Answer:

DONT CONFESS IF YOU DIDNT DO IT!!!!!!
^^ x_happydimples, i never had a job too.
the truth will eventually come out. dont worry.
and who carries that much cash???
i mean.... you have not done anything wrong...
so.. dont confess. so what if they fire you?????
honesty is what matters.
i would be mad but i wouldnt give in.
they want you to admit. dont.
i bet it was those girls who took it.
or maybe the teacher lost it herself!
those kids!!!!???
if you have done nothing wrong, then you have completely nothing to be afraid of.
i havent experienced that yet.
but if i do, i would cry, yes, but i will never take blame for something i did not do.
PEOPLE (MR. POPO) DONT UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD WITH MORALS AND WOULD NEVER DO SUCH A THING.
i hate people like that.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!
let us know what happens!
Answer:
I CANT BELIEVE THEY ACCUSE YOU W/O EVIDENCE!
i mean i just can't believe how ignorant those ppl whom you worked for. That was really wrong. Even if you did steal, w/o evidence, accusing someone is wrong.
I'm not saying you steal, but I'm just so appalled by those people's action.

Answer:
I feel your pain, though I wouldn't worry too much about. It happened to me when I was an intern. Basically the same thing happened, but instead of a child development center I was an intern for a web design firm and instead of cash it was a check.
I had to go through a bunch of sh*t with the police and the firm it was a big mess. So this bastard (the art director at time) was standing next to my desk to explain some details of a project I was doing at time and some how he put the check of $15,000 into his stack of papers and folders. Three weeks later when a friend of mine (also my co-worker) was passing out the papers and folders for a meeting found the check. He got fired for saying all sort of sh*t to me when it was his fault. He called my school and dean office and everything. I made the firm to send out a few letters for all the people they called to clear up the mistake. After that, I quit.
