Relatives who fight over the bill

Question:
hahaa, my parents always do it, like when eating with relatives or friends. it's so annoying. for goodness sakes if you wanna pay the bill so much then flip a friken coin or somethin.
Answer:
yeah my parents always want to pay (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)
Answer:
My family does it all the time. Recently my 70 something year old godfather almost ripped the bill in half when he tugged it out of my aunt's hand. He may be old but no one can tear a bill from his grip once he gets it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sweatingbullets.gif)
I feel awkward when this happens in a non-asian restuarant. When it happens in a Chinese restaurant I find it amusing.
Answer:
My mom and her friends -______-
It's ridiculous. My mom has her credit card ready while her friends are fighting over it, and she then she snatches it away and pays it. It's quite annoying, really. I don't know why they can't split it.

haha, that actually reminds me of the time my uncle came over from toronto. he had his arm over the waiter and was trying to pursade him to hand over the bill with some smooth talking xD. the waiter's one of my dad's friends so he was loyal to my dad, but man.. i'll never forget the look on his face, LMAO!! my uncle must have spent like over 15 minutes just talking to the waiter, and he even tried slipping money in my brother's pocket after my dad payed, haha. good times (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
Answer:
It's really annoying. Even in Asia I think the younger ppl have done away with this ridiculous custom.
Thank god that it will die out soon as the new generation replaces the old.
At a certain point you need to just let the other person have the satisfaction of paying.
I also hate the whole *refuse to accept a gift* custom in Asian cultures. So damn ridiculous...I usually refuse once, then accept because, sorry, but I can't front the whole no I could never take that from you attitude. One of my cooler relatives actually gets annoyed when you pretend to refuse a gift, hes like take it already with a very stern look on his face, in a way you can tell hes saying you know your gonna get it, so stop wasting our time.
Answer:
lmao my family does that.... their so loud too.. my friends tell me their parents do this too.. it must be a habit..

i wish.... but even in my 20s (when i'm broke) i find myself argueing over the bill with my friends. guess seeing my mom fight over the bill has rubbed off on me.
Answer:
asian adults i know do this all the time.. i find it funny when they're snatching the bill from eachother. ^^
Answer:

I always find it odd that they offer to pay but then complain about how expensive some things are at home or when they go shopping. I some times question if they really want to pay out of generosity or just to make themselves look good.
it's to make themselves look good obviously
hey, if i were them, i'd be like, be my guest, pay my bill!
Answer:

I don't know why, but chinese people tend to do this a lot _
Agreed. My dad tends to do this a lot. It's interesting to watch.
Answer:
My parents do it but only when there's someone visiting from out of state or out of country. If it's relatives who live in the same state, they always split the bill.
Answer:
yes..well sometimes
if it was me, haha, i would let the other person pay for me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) saves me money.
Answer:
Yes yes, ALL THE TIME. There's hardly anytime when they don't fight.
Answer:
We're polite about it... like I'll pay *takes check away* I'll pay... Ok!
Answer:
