you have to be a least 18 to work at a&f and 17 at abercrombie kids, so far they mainly care about the looks, you don't really need any experience.

You have to be legal and have experience / know how to sell and present the product. Knowing someone w/in the company or location helps as well.
I've done both and it's not so bad. You can be as sexy as you want, but if you can't sell a simple tee or even a pair of undies, you're as good as gone.
