Good videocards.

Question:
I overclocked my old video card so I decided to buy a new one but I have no idea what are good videocards to buy. Any help is appreciated ^____________^
Answer:
what kind of needs do you have? the Nvidia 7900 series is nice, but might be too expensive or overkill for many.
Answer:
^ i heard many problems with BFG, eVGA, and XFX for the 7900 series. So if you're going for 7900, go for other brands (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Those are the major companies that make high end NVidia graphics boards. You hear many problems because most people buy from those companies. You don't hear as much about the other companies because no one buys them.. xP
So what brands do you recommend ?? PNY, Chaintech ?? I would never buy anything from these companies.

That's a good recommendation. I second it if you play high-end graphic games such as FEAR.
But like the previous poster said, what kind of needs do you have?
I'm assuming it's for gaming... If so, perhaps tell us what you play?
The 7900 series is quite expensive as stated, and for most games that are out nowadays, it's an overkill.
You can get a more than decent video card for half the price.
I'm currently using a GeForce 6600GT and I'm quite happy with it. I can run the games I play just fine, even at max settings.

lol, i would, if it's the right price (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I actually heard PNY's not bad for a budget card.
go for MSI or ASUS. I think those are pretty stable.

i was talking about the 7900 series (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Answer:
eVGA is a great brand. For every 1 RMA you'll hear about in the 7900 series, there's a 100 more to say it's great.
If you have AGP, try to get a 6600gt or a 6800NU.
If you're PCI-E...maybe an
ATI
X1800XT
x1900XT
x1900XTX? haha
Nvidia
6600gt
6800NU
6800GS
7800GT (since they're cheaper)
7900GT...
You OC'd your vga? With what? Coolbits? What kind of card do you have anyway.
Answer:
MSI or ASUS. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
If you get one of those cards with a fan.. you really SHOULD get an aftermarket cooler instead of the stock cooler, since they tend to be VERY loud. __ the Zalman Vf700 or VF900 are good.
but anyways..
first of all.. you need to find out if you have an AGP slot or a PCI-E slot in your mobo. then search from there.
I'd recommend the Geforce 7 series. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
but it all depends on your needs and your price range.
check newegg!
Answer:
Haven't read about cards in a while...
But how does the X1900 compare to the 7900 series?
Answer:
^ the 7900GTX and X1900XTX are basically on par... but the 7950GX2 is right between a single 7900GTX and a SLI 7900GTX. so i guess that's the top card atm if you're looking at single ones.

Answer:
So 7900GT and X1900XT are equal basically?
Answer:
^^ ya.. I think so they are on around the same playing flied but the x1900 is like huge isn't it? and quite the power guzzler.. even compared to something like a 7900..
Answer:
just get a 7950GX2. u probably won't complain much after you get it.
Answer:
wait, what is your old videocard? and is it broken or something? and a budget range would be nice to know. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Answer:
I think he overclocked his intregrated GPU to the limit.
=[
Answer:
i've been looking at the 6800. about 150 dollars is a pretty good range for me. or you can spend half the money and get a 6200, which would still be a good upgrade for me.
Answer:
I'm actually looking for a card too, and I was wondering what your guy's thoughts were on the ATI Radeon x850 AGP
i'm looking for a decent card, within the $300 canadian range
Current card is a geforce 4 mx440 which is total garbage
Answer:
so ur going for a ~300$ CAD, AGP card?
I would get a 200$ 6600gt.
if it were my choice, I would just save money and get a Pci-E system. Agp cards are less bang for buck and outdated.
