my parents are buying a video cam...
i suggested a dvd camcorder (i saw a sony billboard)
but i dnt have any idea on what brand and model to buy.
what do you suggest?

what canon digicams can you recommend? i think it will be better to get a digicam than a video cam...

I like the Canon Powershot line.
There are several of them. Alot of the good ones have 6-7 Megapixels and have 2.5 inch LCD Screens. 3x-5x Optical soom and Video features up to 60 FPS.
I personally like the Canon Powershot SD50

Don't get one that records straight onto a dvd or onto a hard drive, b/c those you can USUALLY get only 15-20 minutes of footage onto.
I have a Sony DCR-HC26, I really like it. Very easy to use.
You record onto a tape, but then you have a cable thathooks up to the computer so you can upload it.
