Apple Slips on Possible IPod Delays
© 2006 The Associated Press
NEW YORK — Apple Computer Inc. shares slipped in afternoon trading on Wednesday after an analyst speculated that there will likely be delays in the rollout of two new models of iPods.
American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu, who has a Buy rating on the stock, said that he believes the company's release of its new iPod nano and widescreen video iPod may not happen in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, as he'd previously anticipated.
For the nanos, we now anticipate the December quarter (release) as more likely as we believe the delay is related to an SOC (system-on-a-chip) change from PortalPlayer Inc., Wu wrote in a note. On the widescreen video iPod, we are picking up that battery life continues to be the key gating factor that could delay its release until the first-half of 2007 from the fourth quarter.
PortalPlayer is a San Jose, Calif.-based maker of semiconductors used in portable media devices, such as MP3 players.
Shares of Apple, which have traded between $36.12 and $86.40 over the last year, were down $1.72, or 3 percent, to $55.71 in afternoon trading on the Nasdaq.

So its a touchscreen?
From my experience, touchscreens are a pain in the arse.
Man. It reminds me of my iriver clix ==
Answer:
ummm ya.. good luck.. you're supposed to watch a video on the same screen that you use your fingers to push on.. so there will either have to be some sort of permantnet windex built into the ipod.. or there will be a gigantic thumb print on king kong from when you hit play on the virtual clickwheel.
Answer:
will consider buying if my nano dies after it's released...
