Question:
I went through about three. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)
I buy one. It doesn't satisfy me. I sell it on eBay to get money for another one. People said I'm really weird, ohwells. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) It's my own money. BUT I am proud to say I've found the perfect camera for me. The Canon SD500. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Answer:
I've been through:
Sony DSC-P7. returned it because the video didn't record sound
Kodak CX330 (or something like that). returned it because a newer sony came out.
I got to return those because I work at Target, haha. + Discount.
Then I got Sony DSC-P72. Was happy with it until DSC-V1 Pro came out. I got the V1 for my birthday. I still have the P72 though.
I'm planning on getting a REAL dslr camera since I'm taking a photography class next year at the university i'm going to. I'm not sure whether I should get Nikon D50 or Canon Rebel XT?
Anywho, I'm happy with my V1 =) But I want something with actual power =T
Answer:
0, I've owned three, they've all worked great.
Answer:
I've had three and have yet to find the perfect camera. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
I want a silver camera that takes very clear pictures. Something that is not bulky/big. Preferebly, I want it to be easy to use (amount of fancy features don't matter to me) since I have never taken classes. But the clarity of the pictures is my greatest concern.
Is a camera that takes pictures as clear as this http://static.flickr.com/27/101110669_fee6f9e27e.jpg?v=0 only attainable with a professsional camera? This is the level of clarity that I want in my camera, yet unable to achieve with the cameras that I have had. I'm beginning to think that I need a professional camera to get those results.
But if there is any camera that came to mind, please PM me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Thank you.

Perhaps an SLR. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Answer:
About the SLR...I looked it up on Wikipedia (because I had no inclination of what it was) and this is what I got:
The single-lens reflex (SLR) is a type of camera that uses a movable mirror placed between the lens and the film to project the image seen through the lens to a matte focusing screen. Most SLRs use a roof pentaprism or pentamirror to observe the image via an eyepiece, but there are also other finder arrangements, such as the waist-level finder or porro prisms.
...
Could you please explain to me what that means? Also, is this too advanced for a person who has no camera experience? If not, what models are good to buy?
Thank you!
Answer:
My first camera: Canon SD500
My latest camera: Canon Powershot SD30 in Tuxedo Black. Rawr!
The SD500 is awesome; no doubt. But it broke, and my warranty on that camera is not going to be enough to cover the damages. TT-TT.
Answer:
It took me a few years to find a digital camera worth buying and after waiting around and reading reviews for so long, I picked up a Canon PowerShot A610 a few months ago.
I really like the 1-cm macro distance and quick camera response. Great camera for a point-and-shoot system.
I'd like to go diving with my camera one of these days....it's too bad Canon's underwater housing for the camera won't fit wide-angle lens attachments because of the abnormal shape it uses...I'd have to get a $400 ikelite housing if I want all the bells and whistles.
Answer:
Zero, my first camera was a Canon Powershot S400.

you can do that with a 3mp point and shoot camera, the reason it looks so clear is that it was sharpened in a program such as photoshop
as for me, i have yet to find the perfect camera
-the Canon 300D is pretty nice, but its extremely slow in writing large files, and the resolution is just not enough for me
-the D70 is nice too, just love how nikon glass works on fuji cameras too
-the Fuji S2 has very nice dynamic range, and it takes nikon glass but thats the only things good about it.
-the Fuji S1 is just plain slow
-the Mamiya 645 is good, although the negatives are a little too small for medium format in my opinion
-the Calumet 4x5 is sweet in term in the physical size of the negative, scanned and i can get it to about 63mp with excellent quality. then you just gotta love the camera movements, the ability to control depth of field and perspective. but the down side is that its big and bulky, and the sheet film are quite expensive
Answer:
^^ And the image was shrunk down to a really small resolution, my camera output would create an image that was 6x larger than that,.. and then u can just touch it up and shrink it.. and all tiny imperfections dissappear.
Anyway a SLR is clearly too advanced and expensive and bulky for you... so ya... you probably just want some shiny little canon or something.. just like everyone else.

Yes, an SLR is too advanced for someone with no experience. And it's bulky.
I agree with everyone else. It might have been a regular digital camera and retouched with photoshop. Another reason was stated. They could have taken the picture at the highest resolution and when you shrink it to that tiny size, the flaws will disappear.

First the Sony P100 then the Canon SD400 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You can take that picture with any camera, as long as you know how to set up all the DoF and other settings, after that you clean it up in photoshop.
That's how pro's do it.
to take a good picture, the camera is only 10%, 10% photoshop, and 80% is you
Answer:
Well, I don't think there was a perfect camera for me.
People want to get new one, just because its outdated.
.
Currently use Sd550 for point and shoot
and Rebel XT with couple lens.
Answer:
Two. First a Minolta that I got for Christmas two-three years ago and now a Canon Powershot SD450 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I love it. I'll be sticking with it for a while.
Answer:
i am finally ditching my SD500 for a entry level Digital SLR. Im am leaning towardsthe Nikon D70s. The Nikon D200 is also nice but its out of my price range

You might be able to save some money by just getting the D70, its basically the same thing, except the lcd screen on the back is a little smaller. And its not like you can even use the lcd for capturing images.. just reviewing.

Ill look into that. isnt there some firmware updates on the D70s as well?
How does the Nikon D70s compare to the Canon Digital Rebel XT? I heard that the kit lens that comes with the D70s is better than the Rebel XT's. I plan on upgrading the lens so that really doesnt matter to me.. any other noticeble pros or cons when comparing the two?
Also, can you recommend any other DSLR's in the 1300-1500 range?
Answer:
Pentax MX, sd10, FM3A, D50, and a Holga
My next camera is going to either be a medium format or a rangefinder. (Hopefully)
And whoever was contemplating between the D50 and the Rebel XT,
Go with the D50. Go with Nikon. Nikon wins.
Answer:
I haven't found the PERFECT ONE yet
