HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK IT'S WORTH ?

Question:
A Canon SD500 with a broken zoom. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Answer:
$100? i don't think there are many people who'd want a camera with a broken zoom to be honest...
Answer:
^yeahh. cuz I would buy a regular used 500 for about 200 or less, but with a broken zoom. like a hundred or less. no point of a camera with broken zoom. so I wouldn't even buy it. Who are you selling it to? General public or manufacturers/companies? because manufacturers/companies would take it for much less.
Answer:
Well, I've seen on eBay plenty of cameras with faults in them get sold because I'm guessing the buyer buys them for the parts or something?
Answer:
You just have to check ebay to see what you see in terms of broken, parts, or as is.
The reason behind it would be like my friend's canon camera. He gets the E18 camera lense stuck error, his LCD only shows white, the picture comes out discolered and with stripes of red across it. Actually, I think he should just trash that camera.
^Thats the reason why I am always questioning everyone who says CANON FOR THE WIN!!!

Answer:
u could probably get a decent amount
cuz the LCD screen itself is really expensive to replace if its broken....

Answer:
Omg. Didn't you JUST get the camera also? Dang.
I still haven't bothered to fix my camera since it dropped. The zoom is also broken. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Anyone have suggestions as to where to go get it fixed at? I have no idea.
Answer:
maybe you two should sell parts to each other and see if you could fix it =D

It came to me defected. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) I emailed Canon and it said to mail in the camera, they'll evaluate the damages & tell you if it costs anything to fix it.
Answer:
Whattttttttttttttttttttttttttttt? You're under warranty, and if this was under less than a month (or 14 days; i don't know how long it is) and it came to you defected like that, then they should replace your camera with no questions asked.
Answer:
The thing is, my friend bought it for me. I went to his house and he wasn't home for a few weeks. So I'm pretty sure 14 days have passed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
Answer:
try getting it repaired?
then you can sell it for a lot more. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Answer:
nothing. Unless you can sell to a retailer who can happen to fix it.
Answer:
cant you just go to a camera shop and ask them how much it owuld cost to fix?

I'm guessing from your latest posts that your warranty's up, so try finding a Camera-repair shop in town, call them and ask them if they can repair it.
Say, if you're from Houston, I think I know of a place that fixed my sister's cracked LCD for around $150-200.

Answer:
My warranty is for 90 days. 3 months. It's only been a month.

yeah warranties should never be 14 days for expensive electronics like digital cameras. i think you should try to get an exchange from canon but i heard their customer service kind of sucks. good luck hope you can get a replacement^^
