I swear, I'm really starting to hate guys now. I finally met this dude who is just OMG sexy, friendly, nice, sweet, and all that other good stuff. he's just a really cool person to be around at times. come to find out, he's a smoker. there's nothing that's more of a turn-off to me than a guy being a smoker. but it gets worse, he loves to get high. when I found that out, I was just like SON OF A !@#%&. I'm so pissed now cause I really liked him, but I refuse to be with someone who's constantly smoking and getting high. why do some guys have to be jerks? why can't guys be perfect? it would make my life alot easier! lol j/k

My bf's ALMOST perfect, but it took him 33 years to come to that. He's financially stable, has a sexy credit score, good relations with his family, still good friends with the guys he grew up with, has good manners... heck, I can go on and on. The point is and it's obvious, no one can be perfect.
I can overlook someone's bad habit of smoking regular cigs, but not getting high. From what you've said, it seems you're smart enough to not get involved with a person like that. BUT don't think all guys are jerks. Don't hate them. And if guys were perfect, sure life would be a whole lot easier, but it wouldn't be as fun. That's why I'm glad my bf is just ALMOST perfect. He's a smoker, gambler (plays poker for a living), social drinker, weekday World of Warcrack addict, and often times he's Mr.-too-laid-back-no-need-for-plans, but that's what makes and keeps things interesting.

I have a few good friends who like to get high, some times every week, some times once or twice a month. And you know what? They're among the best people I know in my life. They're very laid back and cool. You can joke around with them all you want and they won't get upset or mad at you. Smoking and getting high is just a small part of them, they do it for fun BUT they're not defined by those things. They're much, MUCH more than just an occasional dope head. Take time to get to know people people for who they really are, not just some things that they do and you don't agree with, and then equate that as them being jerks or whatever. You'll be amazed at how great people can be once you get past their flaws. (I don't consider smoking and getting high to be flaws.)

Might not be the most intelligent of things to do, and I totally understand your reluctance to be with a person like that, but I don't think they're grounds to hate him, or guys in general.
