Question:
Erm, Hi everyone. ^^
Okay, lets see..
I've been in a Girl's school since Year 1 till now. (I'm now in Year 12).
So one day, my parents brought up the topic. And they were like..
Parents: If you know any boys, your head will fall.
Me: what?!.
Parents: You heard us. You have to concentrate studying.
Me: Oh.
Then I changed topic about how wierd the television show was.
Erm. So I don't get why my parents don't even let me have friends who are guys.
It's really wierd. I'm 18 and they don't let me know boys? Eh. o-0
What do you think about this matter?
Do your parents allow you to have friends that are of the opposite sex? (Because mine don't.)
Answer:
well my parents let me have friends that are guys because my mom has friends that are guys although she isn't close with them, and my dad knows some girls i guess? haha. it's all part of life. though my mom doesn't really like it when i date guys cause she wants to me study. i mean infact, one of my closest friends is a guy. i think your parents just want you to study hard especially since you're 18 and you're about to go into college =] lol.
Answer:
^my parents do allow me.. But i have LIMITS== which is pretty annoying...
I just have to act innocent infront of em.. & behind go wild.. =D haha....
Ohmygod.. I pity you.. i think u should talk to ur parents that now ur in the year 2007 & there's no1 else like that... try rebelling.. ^^ LOL
PS: im really good at convincing parents..
If u need help, gimme ur parents no, & ill talk to em..
haha.. ^^
Answer:
They allow me to...yes, but I bet they would freak out on me if I said I was going to town with a some guys and just them, LOL.
It's never been a problem really, my parents are cool about it. One time, I was on the phone with a guy, ROFL, and my mom was like, are you talking to a guy?...haha she was cool about it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Answer:
my parents allow me to have guy friends. but .. they do think some of my guy friends are gay bc of the way the act when they're over my house, haha. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)
they just want you to study hard (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
is that why your parents put you in an all girls school?
Answer:
They're okay with it.
As long as I don't bring any guy friends home.
Answer:
I sort of laughed when I read your post (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)
Anyway yes I'm allowed.. well they never said that but I know it's fine. But I don't have many guy friends anyway.. I'm closer to girls haha. The only time when my parents seen me with guys was when.. my friends and their BF wanted to watch a movie at my house.
I still find it really odd that you're not allowed to have friends of opposite sex especially when you're in grade 12? Yes they want you to study hard, but they have to understand that you're going into the real world soon, you will eventually have to deal with guys.
And that's just what I think. Good luck :b
Answer:
My parents don't mind, but the only problem is that they'll quickly assume it's a girlfriend, not a girl friend. To avoid all of the obnoxious questions and the discomfort of talking to my parents about relationships in general, I don't have any female friends.

Umm. i think because they think that you will lose concentrate on studying and follow your mind to boys instead? o.O
but for my mom, I have a lot of guy friends and she don't care... My mom does care but she knows that I don't hang out with them..
So, i guess its less worry for her. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
Answer:
Well, my mom knows one of my guy childhood friend when we were in pre-k
but he moved. And another of my guy friend, his aunt works for my dad and
his mom works for my aunt. So they know him. But other than that, I dont think so.
Because I was on aim and my dad asked who i was talking with and i was just asking
my guy friend to help me with homework and all. So I said my friend's name and my dad
was like Is that a guy?and i said, Yeah, he's just helping me on homework. ~ and my wall-
paper is a picture of a guy celebrity (yamapi3), eh. Parents just need to kno wwe're growing up.
Parents who trust their children should know that they're capable of knowing what's right & wrong
Answer:
they never really brought up the topic. i know my dad doesn't like it too much, but then my mum knows i've always gotten along better with the guys (i had a lot of male role models when i grew up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ). so it was kinda weird when she was really shocked to find out my best friend is male. =/ she always tells me to stop becoming just 'friends' with guys cos that will make it harder to find a boyfriend -__-
Answer:
I used to not be able to have boys that are friends. They never really blantely said it but i knew. As I grow older , it was okay to have friends that are boys. And now I am older, its perfectly fine. My parents were like that only because I was a girl and they are just trying to protect me. So you kids don't get mad at your parents, they are only doing whats good for you.
Answer:
whoa your parents are wayyy too strict.
my parent's don't let me DATE any guys.
but i can have guy friends. some even come over to my house.
but i'm sure you're parents will grow lenient one day.
they'll loosen the grip sooner or later.
Answer:
yeah, they don't care, lol. they just don't want me to get into any relationships.
Answer:
Mine don't care, as long as others don't come looking for trouble cause of me.
Answer:
My dad is umm... iffy about it, he doesn't want me to be in a relationship haha.
My mom is okay about guys, she knows I won't do anything stupid and she knows I have a lot of guy friends.
Answer:
I can have friends that are guys.
However, if they're coming over my house, there's gotta be some girls coming too. LOL
and as for dating, its a big NO. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
My parents say that I go out wayyyyy too much anyways,
so if I get a boyfriend, I'm not going to care about my studies and such.
so yeah. =/ lol
Answer:
i wish i had parents that were strict like that.. then i would have an excuse to not go out with whoever :/
my parents encourage me to date. they even let my girl and guy friends to sleepover and stay in the same room O_O
and they think it's stupid how other parents are way to uptight about these kind of stuff. as long as i don't get pregnant, it's okay .____.
Answer:
my parents don't really care...
but i can understand why yours parents might. you've been in an all-girl's school, not being exposed to all these guys.... you might fall for the first guy who treats you nicely.
Answer:
i guess they are okay unlesss i start dating with them :( lol and bringing them homee
unlesss i tell them they are gay lol but i doubt that work lol
