Do you think it's necessary to become friends with your s/o's friends? Like not exactly become best of friends but at least get along etc etc. You get the idea...

I think you should at least get along cause then it won't cause tension between you and your s/o...but that's my personal opinion. People share.

hmm this is a good question. Yeah, I guess it is a must, since being close w/their friends might help you if you're having troubles w/your SO or whatever.

It's important to get along with your SO's friends. My bf gets along with my friends, and I'm happy that he made an effort to. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) However, I have yet to meet his friends lol.

I think it's nice on both ends to at least TRY and become friendly with each others 'cliques'. If they try and they don't get along, at least they tried, nothing makes them different than any other random people who don't like each other, so I don't think it should reflect upon the relationship either (as in that whole your bestfriend sucks, if you dont stop being friends with them I'll leave you sorta thing). Unless the friend does things to try and break them up, or the boyfriend does things for no reason to try and make her stop being friends with him, I don't think it should matter.
I have friends that my boyfriend doesn't like, and he has friends that I don't like. I've never tried to say anything about him not being friends with them until they've proven problematic to our relationship, otherwise, his friends are just that, his.
