people are supposed to live like they do on tv. you have your friends, a SO, you graduate high school, go to a university and party, wait till you graduate
till you have kids, etc.

TV definitely does not set the standard of an ideal life. It is glorified by the popularity of their shows, but most will say that none of the shows are truly ideal for anyone to live life.

Learn martial arts, have an affair, have a gang chase after you, constant battles that put your skills to the test, save the girl, realize that she's black-belt and kick-ass as well, beat boss down, live happily ever after.
