Appropriate Dating age

Question:

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) i guess you haven't been to middle schools lately..i'm in 8th grade now & my friend and her bf have been together since 6th grade. my friend's brother has been going out with a girl since 7th grade and they're juniors in high school now.
i think there really isn't an apropriate age to start dating. it's sort of a feeling. i don't know, i don't make sense, haha.
This brings up the question: What exactly is a long time =/
3 weeks? 3 months? 3 years? 3 decades?
Some people see 3 days as long, while others see 3 years as short. Hmm... Strange people xD
Answer:

After highschool. Any earlier seems pointless to me. (And dating in middle school..? LMAO. Okay, the longest it lasts is about 1 week.)

a few friends in highschool started dating like 3 years ago and their still together... lol
Answer:
i dont think there really is a appropiate. i think when the person feels they are mature enough or okay enough to handle a bf/gf relationship.... my mom wnats me to start dating when im 21. basically when im done with school forever -.-
Answer:
Uhm, I as well as some others don`t think age
could really indicate when it`s appropriate to date. I mean some people
mateur at different ages, and their minds change as well. Maybe
highschool wouldn`t be very early to experiment with relationships.
It`s not like a ' let`s get married ' kind of thing, but more like a way to
meet more people, and even yourself. I think the more appropriate age
is when you make a commitment to yourself, and take responsibility
for what you do, before and after you do it. o_o; yeah ..
OH, and you know its definitely too young when they go,
'i wub u so much, i can nvr live wid0uts u,' on the first day of their relationship.
Answer:
It really depends... if you're just dating then probably around 16. It's a totally different story if we're talking about serious relationships though. After high school would be ideal for a more serious relationship in my opinion.
Answer:
if i ever had kids...i would tell them that once i see a high sat score they can date... its best to give them a goal. get into college then u can waste all the time you want following guys around.
Answer:
i think high school is fine. but my parents think otherwise. the appropriate age for them is around 25.
Answer:
elementary. owh those sweet old memories
cooties rulez~~~
Answer:
16-18 depending on how fast you mature. ^^'
Answer:
After highschool because then your done with all of your required schooling and plus you'll have your whole life ahead of you to date, so it's just best to wait until after your done with highschool.
Answer:

Haha. I don't think there should be a set age, people should just learn on their own.
Yes! i agree with that.. i dont believe that you have to be a certain age to date/have a gf or bf.. when the person thinks they are ready to date then they are.. it depends on the person... and plus it's just dating nothing serious yet.
Answer:
lol. i rekon their isnt reali an appropriate dating age coz i gess its wen two ppl are mentally and physically ready *shrugs*
hahaa, personally i rekon primary skool (i think its called elementary in the US) is WAY to early to start dating...LOL..i rekon wen ur 15+ is better coz ur more responsible and less careless...+ ur 'first kiss' will actually mean a whole lot more..ahah
*shrugs* iuno, thatsjust my view point^^ ahaha
Answer:
Haha my parents don't like me to date until I'm 18.
I kind of agree.
I look at the couples in high school and it's simply so inmature. All they do is PDA and grope each other and after a few weeks, they're broken up. Another few weeks, they're dating each other's friends (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)
Simply too much of a hassle...
But some kids are mature and they can handle it.
Answer:
Depends on how mature you are and how committed you are I guess.
For the mature I'd say maybe around 16 - 17. But for the emotional obsessive non-mature high schoolers maybe until 22 - 23
Answer:
Starting from Junior year in high school.. I think that's when most people become a bit more mature and understand more about life.
Anything before that is pretty much hard to tell... I've seen so many lower classmen as well as middle schoolers who date for 1 week and then break up continuously...
I also don't understand how you can date someone without having a car. I mean, what can you do without a car? (unless you live near each other....)
Answer:
i think you should at least be in high school... 15-16 sounds like a reasonable age to start dating =] i had like a couple 'guys' or whatever from like freshman year.. but my real relationship (i consider him my first boyfriend) started in the summer of my sophomore year in high school (we dated for a few months and then he finally asked me out in the summer xP) hehe it's been two years, and we're still goin strong ;P
but yeah. it depends on your maturity level too; however, i think one should at LEAST be in high school before startin to date.
edit: LOL and i love one of the poster's comments about the SAT score.. hehe.. i'll probably be like that too xP
Answer:
When your mom says you can.
Some ppl it maybe in hs, other college, others grad school, some never (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
Answer:

16. there's no point in having a relationship at a younger age.
i agree with you.. cuz i just turned SIXTEEN!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) i think that age is alright... but there are restrictions from family members
Answer:
I'd say the most appropriate dating age is when you can handle it... hopefully after puberty, kids. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
of course we all need some experience for when we get into serious dating in the future ;] but... I still say middle school is a bit too young~~
Answer:
16. sex is overrated these days
