When You Skip School

Question:
Oh gods, does this apply? Did I put it in the right place? Because it still counts as relationships-- Sort of. I'm not really sure where to put this.
Yesterday was the first time I skipped school-- for no reason what so ever. I was just tired && I didnt want to go. ._. && my parents didn't mind it at all. T_T So It's making me feel worst (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) because the only person that cares is me.
Okay. I'm a good girl, usually, mostly-- well my friends say I am .__. but I think I'm turning bad. && My parents never order me to do anything at all-- they aren't strict with me at all ;; It's like I can do anything I want... and they wouldn't mind.
I know most people have strict parents (my friends do) and they hate it.. but I kind of 'want' strict parents because it'd show they cared, you know? Because sometimes I feel like my parents just don't care what I do or not... I'm not sure if there's something wrong with me or not...
But what should I do? .__. and I'm never skipping school again because i'd feel even worst.
Give me advice... please and.. thankyou.
Answer:
lol i didn't go to school today just because i was late and i was tired. My dad didn't care, i used to find it strange but my parents found out how late i was sleeping for hw so they're like ehhhh it won't hurt if she misses one day lol
Answer:
trust me...feel lucky.
one time, i really didnt want to go to school. i wasnt so happy that day. like i had this one point last year where i dreaded waking up the next morning cause i wouldnt want to even leave my room. i refused to go to school and my dad almost broke down my door...i was stupid then but yeah...
Answer:
It's not always strict parents that care
I skipped school a lot in high school and my mom would excuse it for me.
Sometimes I had reasons...usually they were bad :/ Like, I didn't do my hw or study for a test, haha but I would always be like, isn't it better to have an excused absence instead of failing my test? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
Anyway, don't be like me and follow that example, but hahah I was just trying to say, my mom wasn't exactly strict-but she expected me to do well and I know my mom cares about me more than anything in the world and I love her more than anything in the world too.
Some people aren't very good at showing their feelings, and that could just be how your parents are. Just because they don't mind you skipping school, doesn't mean they don't care, especially since you say you're an overall good kid.
If I had been skipping school to go do drugs or something, I'm sure my mom wouldn't have excused my absences-and so I bet your parents know you're a good kid so they don't have to worry (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Answer:

i would never admit that i was skipping
they'd probably care though
now i really dont care what they think
Answer:
for me, my parents knew that i had a sense of judgement. i'm (generally) a good student, and reasonably, they'd know that i'd be better off not going to school that day, maybe i was busy the night before, or i'm feeling sick.
As long as it doesn't become a habit, they'd think its more beneficial to you to rest the day. They probably think the same way, if it gets to be a habit, i'm pretty sure they would come up to you and point that out, menaing that they still care, but missing a class here and there it doesn't affect your education so it should be fine.
Answer:
haha you should feel lucky.
i wish i had parents like that.

who knows?
Answer:
um probably reverse psychology?
Answer:
hmm.. i dont think you're turning bad. i guess you're just the type that's respectful to your parents and think for them, unlike other kids. you should also be glad that they're not strict because you'll get super annoyed if they were.
sorry if im not helping _
Answer:
ive noticed that when my friends skip school, their parents are like... eh
but when i do, my parents trip. it makes me feel special cuz i know they luv me an all.. and sometimes to keep away from all that lecturing, i try to keep it away from them. they get over it quick though.
Answer:
i cut alot in high school, i leave home in the morning, go to my friends home 4 blocks away, and go to sleep there till schools over
when my parents found out, my parents said you dissapoint me....thats the worse right there, but oh well i graduated on time and in college, so all good
Answer:
don't think of it as not caring. it's more like they trust you. i can't understand those parents that are super strict on their kids. it's like they're in high school and the parents still want them home right after school and if it's a friend's birthday they still have to be home by like 6:00 and the parents will call them 12 times in between just to see that she is not doing crack. seriously some parents are just way overprotective. that's no way to raise a child.
well since you feel so guilty i guess that's a good thing because most people skip and see that it's so awesome and then it becomes a habit. that was me during high school. man i was totally upset when the new principal made this new rule about how it was an automatic failure for your classes when we got 3 unexcused absences. i was like what?! this is absurd. how the heck is 3 absences supposed to last me that long.
but yea my parents knew about me skipping a lot but they didn't say anything because i kept my grades up. i think it's only a problem if you end up falling way behind and your grades start dropping. my dad didn't really say anything about my skipping but my mom used to make this big deal about it every time i skipped. I only skipped morning classes because i didn't feel like waking up all extra early. she would always say that i'd be one of the stupid kids because i wasn't in class to hear what the teacher had to say. i didn't really see the point because in most classes you can pretty much teach yourself through the textbook.
Answer:
I never skipped school from Grade school to Jr year in HS. Then I started driving and..yeah u know the deal. Thing was my parents were so strict of me missing any school that even when I was terribly sick when I was younger, I still went to class. I remember having a stomach flu and going to school in the 4th or 5th grade, and my mom made my sister write me a note to the teacher saying Please excuse Calvin for going to the bathroom excessively, he needs to throw up a lot lol..
Answer:
go be a bad girl it's fun, no wait of course you shouldn't, bad me.

Hmm, actually my parents are exactly like that. I'm a junior in high school currently, and they still want me to go right home. I have to call them when school's finished. When I go to parties my parents DO call me like a lot. They asked me if my best friends were drug dealers. ;; I mean really. I've been friends with them since elementary/middle school. ;; A lot of my friends can go where ever they want their parents don't care they just have to be home by 9PM. One of my other friends doesn't have a curfew. They could go home at 1AM if they wanted to. Lucky people. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)
To the topic starter: It doesn't hurt to do that once in a while. Just make sure this doesn't become a habit. Cause if it did.. err--that'd be bad.
Quote that is so true: (for me anyhow) We always want what we can't have.
Answer:
I know how you feel. My parents are NOT strict at all and sometimes I wish they would be, I feel more loved that way. However ,I've learnt that being strict doesn't mean they care for you. Some parents just value other things, put it this way, maybe your parents trust you enough so they don't need to be so strict.
My mum doesn't mind if I skip school because she knows I would only stay home for a good reason.
Answer:
Your parents are smart, forcing and yelling would only make the child want to rebel, while silence would make the child feel guilty and give up on the 'bad habits'.. smart parents!!
I would never tell mine, i just make up excuses like its 'study day' for the major exam.. or school starts late so i'm going later, and i never go.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
Answer:
You're so lucky; I'm serious.
