Maturity For Guys.

Question:
What do you girls mean by saying mature? I saw the Age difference thread on here for girls, and I believe that girls want somewhat of a more mature guy. Am I right? So, I'm wondering what your definition of being mature is. Why do girls like mature guys? What does a mature guy have, that a so called immature guy doesn't. What would the mature guy do? Why don't you like immature guys? Please explain.
o and, if possible, state your age, since the answers should vary by age as well.
Answer:
Well, to me, immature would be like talking about really childish things. And acting childish. Immature would also be if they pout alot or whine about something ALOT (because there IS a difference between cute whining and annoying whining). Also if, for example, we're out at the movies or something, and they've seen it already or something, and he keeps on telling me how it's gonna end or something. Or keeps talking during the movies.
Also, if they can't handle alot of things. I think immature usually goes hand in hand with annoying.
Mature would be like responsible, reasonable, logical, smart?
Just the usual good things. Of course he has to be a LITTLE silly SOMETIMES (like not a robot, you know), but he can't be silly all the time.
Answer:
IMMATURE=BOY
MATURE=MAN
i'm sure you know what im saying.
boys and men have different views/opinions on things.
-a man is more logical and reasonable than a boy.
(thats why in law, they use this theory of the reasonable man)
boys are more into what they want to do, and have to do it
but while men want to do it, they'll still get what they need to do, done.
-boys wont call the girl back until they do what they want to do,
while a man will call back asap, or call between his spare minutes.
men are more courteous than little boys
-while a boy will open the door and walk in, a man will hold the door for the lady
these are just in general, and boy/man is not neccesarily boy and man.
just trying to show the difference...but couldnt think of a better way to say.
Answer:

(like not a robot, you know)
you made me think of my cousin
but yeah, I have a cousin, and he's like.. the only words he says is uh huh okay whichever (In Chinese) nad he barely does anything. Like once I was hugging him and everything in public and he just stood there looking like (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) --' same when I was pouncing on him when he was watching TV. He didn't even say get off me or anything o
bottom line is, he has 3 friends, and he's not very fond of them :[
I like him lots, though. I can bother him all I want and rant about everything and he's just there =P
-----------------------------------
to say something on topic, I prefer a guy who knows when enough is enough and when the time is appropriate for being serious or being silly, not all the time being serious or all the time being fun-like
Answer:
I think a good definition of mature is being reasonable and just having common sense. It's just common sense not to act like a jerk or an ahole towards women (in effort to stay on topic). There's things you say and do, and there's things you don't say and don't do. Most of the times, it's not rocket science to seperate the good from the bad.
Most people lack these qualities, both male and female (IMG:style_emoticons/default/vicx.gif)
Answer:
too see the difference, try to compare 12 years old boys with 30++ lol
i didn't mean to be rude or ignorant.
But yeah...you see...mature guy knows when to stop when he's making jokes or when he's goofing around. Immature guys run around not stopping even if everyone's annoyed.
another hint...sense of fashion..trying too much to follow their so-called idol.
a lot of things actually...there are some 30 y.o who are not mature enough and there are some 20 y.o who are mature for their age. It depends on their upbringing i guess. Some need a really big impact in their lives to be mature.

Answer:
When a guy is mature...you would know.
They use logic, generally know what is appropriate and what is not, and can control themselves.
Of course this varies depending on the guy, but usually you can just tell if a guy's mature or immature.
Answer:
immature for me: talking about how hot girls are all the time (like their body parts), being insecure with himself. not having any goals in life, for starters.
Answer:
would accidently insulting a girl by accident by trying to help her consider as immature or mature? =/ just wondering.
Answer:
in a relationship, a mature person is aware of his actions and thier consequences, and takes responsibility when they hurt the relationship. he also plans for a long term relationship. this means that even outside the relationship, he should lead a stable lifestyle with a nice future, so that he can bring to the table as much as she (or he in same-sex relationships) does. i don't think this means the relationship has to be dead serious all the time. the difference is that a mature guy knows when it's fun and games and when its time to be serious.

There are plenty of men like that (talking about body parts, insecurity, definite goals...to live a good life is NOT a real goal (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) )
would accidently insulting a girl by accident by trying to help her consider as immature or mature? =/ just wondering.
Depends. Was it a witty insult? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
Mature insults (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Answer:
It's hard to explain d difference...
Its like how they view life, they know their priorities and all.
Mature guys knows exactly what to do when confronted with a difficult situation... they just do not barge in with out thinking of the consequences it could produce.
And it not true that a mature person doesnt know how to have fun... Dey cud also be fun but they are more aware of their actions and responsibilities in life

Answer:
well.. to me maturity means mostly responsibility
immature guys for example don't really know how to handle things when it comes to them
mature guys just shows something more that attracts me..
especially when you are kinda at an age to start thinking about marriage, maturity is important
Answer:
I can't quite speak for all girls because not all girls think alike, but here's my experience.
I've dated guys younger than me, my age, and older. Age and maturity sometimes go together, but of course, there are exceptions.
BTW I agree with chriquen's definition of a mature guy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .
Someone who's mature knows when to be serious and when to have fun. He knows what limits are and how to respect them. Also, someone who's mature will try to the best of their ability to keep a relationship going (if he's serious about it).
Example
Immature guy: Likes to put on all the pressure and not know when to stop. Likes to joke about relationship (like if someone dared him to pretend to break it off, he would, then he would be mad at you when you DO accept his break-up proposal). They'd also break it off without giving a reason, usually causing relationships to end in bitter terms, I don't think I was ever friends with my exes that are like that. He'd also gets mad at you and decide to show it all before even trying to understand a situation.
Mature guy: Basically what I said above. When you get in an argument, usually, if he's reasonable, he would not just spew out comments like That's Stupid, I hate you, You don't know what you're talking about, he'd actually try to explain what he thinks, and actually LISTEN when you talk. He also won't take a relationship as a joke, and unless there IS a reason why he'd break-up, then he'd try to preserve the relationship... (I think preserve may be the wrong word). When time comes, he'd actually come and say sorry, even if at times he knows he's right.. because he thinks the relationship in danger. If not, he'll try to explain.. calmly, how you're wrong.. so you can find out you're a knuckle-head (haha).
Basically to sum up mature guys are respectful, responsible, and knows when to stop joking around.
Age 17. Haha, I'm young.. nooot really (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Edit: Oh yeah, I agree about the change in priorities when they become more mature. Education/Jobs before Gaming.. most of the time... not all the time XD
