I would like to add that if Fatehi had not acted as she did both she and her young niece would have been raped. The punishment for rape in Iran falls on the victim and not the rapist. Both of these young women would have been stoned to death for premarital sex.
This is a disgustingly vile situation and I hope that if you read this you'll be kind enough to go the petition below and sign it. It might save her life.

According to Etemaad Newspaper in Iran, which also reported Nazanin's original death sentence in January 2006, three out of the five judges in Nazanin's retrial have ordered that dieh blood money be paid to the family of the man who was killed, although the other two had recommended Nazanin's unconditional freedom.
Nazanin's lawyers intend to appeal the payment of blood money, but since this appeal may take several months, they have also requested bail so that Nazanin may be released from prison immediately. The court has set bail at 400,000,000 rials (over US$40,000).
Because Nazanin's family is very poor and unable to make payment of the bail or blood money, immediate financial assistance is required to secure Nazanin's release from prison.

what iwas gonna say..in 2005 they executed a 16 year old girl who they put on her file she was 18 or some crap she was raped and they gave the rapist 90 lashes dude he was married islamically speaking he would get death for adultary its self but then he raped? this lady was tryna fight for the girl to be freed telling them it wasnt islamic law but the ignored her..irans pissing me off...its so many stories like this there was a girl now shes 15 in prison awaiting her death when she turns 18 she didnt even do anything..
