Some of the most grisly testimony in the murder trial of a pig farmer accused of killing 26 women came today with authorities saying in a videotaped interview that an alleged witness saw the defendant hang and skin a woman on a meat hook before feeding her to the pigs.
In the interview, Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers continue pressing Robert William Pickton during their 11-hour interrogation, prompting him to reply that police were making me out to be more of a mass murderer than I am.
The police officers also tell Robert William Pickton in the videotaped interview - played for the 12 jurors during the fourth day of Canada' most sensational murder trial - that they have enough DNA and eyewitness testimony to put him in prison for good.
Pickton, 56, is seen on the video responding with laughter and saying, Yeah, right.
Prosecutors maintain Pickton told an undercover officer planted in his jail cell that he killed 49 women and intended to make it an even 50.
He is charged with 26 counts of first-degree murder. Most of the victims were prostitutes and drug addicts who vanished from a drug-ridden Vancouver neighbourhood in the 1990s.
Pickton is accused of luring women to his pig farm outside Vancouver, where investigators say he threw parties with plenty of alcohol and drugs.
After his arrest in February 2002, health officials issued a tainted meat advisory to neighbours who may have bought pork from his farm, concerned that it may have contained human remains.
In a tape played for Pickton as part of the interview with RCMP Staff Sgt. Don Adam - head of the investigation - the officer tells Pickton that they know he is being blackmailed by a woman who saw him skinning a body in the slaughterhouse.
She talks about coming in on you skinning a girl while she was hanging from a hook, Adam tells Pickton, and urges him to tell the truth. The lies are dragging you down like a stone.
Adam pushes Pickton to tell him how many women he has killed, 10, 20 or 30?
You're making me more of a mass killer than I am, Pickton tells him.
Pickton, wearing a white dress shirt with blue stripes, sat expressionless in his bulletproof witness cubicle during the testimony today, while Adam glared at him.
Another RCMP investigator, Sgt. Bill Fordy, tells Pickton in the videotape that another witness told police he drove past the farm and saw a raven pecking at a woman's corpse.
Pickton has pleaded not guilty to the first six murders of Sereena Abotsway, Mona Wilson, Andrea Joesbury, Brenda Wolfe, Georgina Papin and Marnie Frey.
A separate trial will be held for the other 20.

The police are making him more of a mass murderer than he really is? Umm, forgive me, but isn't 49 considered a hefty mass as it is? It may not be thousands, or even in the hundreds, but 49 is a staggering number, and from one person only.
