Are you looking for a thorough and complete wash and wax system? Or are you just looking for something quick and easy?

Naw you dont want cleaners wax do you?
Anyway, i would claybar, and use a porter cable and use zanio stuff, or you can go meguirs 3 step or just the polish and nxt wax.
I have a scion tc, and i claybar'ed after i got the car and pick up a bunch of yellow sap stuff. O_O
Answer:
you don't need to claybar a car if the paint is in good condition. It's just a waste of time and you can't really notice a difference.
BTW, Polish and then WAX.
Just read the directions on the bottle or can, it's not too hard but it's a lot of crouching and elbow work. It takes me like an hour n half to wax or polish my whole car myself.

ok....thanks guys...imma try and follow yall's advice..and then ill post pics up...
Answer:

Answer:
the best products for the price and outcome would be the Meguires NXT wash and wax system. it comes in a very colorful purple bottle. both should run about $25 together. you might also want to invest in a wool mitt for the lathering process, some terry cloths to dry and a microfiber towel to buff.
when washing the car, apply water and soap very generously. it's like washing your own body; must have lots of soap suds and lather to remove the 'grime' along the paint.
you don't want the wax to dry up before the application process. so, always wax in a cool environment with minimal amounts of sunlight. apply wax with the given sponge applicator around a 12x12 area and buff with a microfiber towel.
one best thing ABOUT the nxt wax system is the residue from the wax. there is NO residue! it works just like a polish. i've tried many waxes, namely meguires gold and zymol, but both leave lots of dry residue from the carnauba and it pisses me off to toothpick them out between the crevices of the body panels AND provide excessive force to peel the residue off the surface. imho, nxt is probably the most convenient wax available. try it.. it won't disappoint!
Answer:
what is clay bar and carnauba and what does it do?
Answer:
Clay bar is to remove deposits that are stuck inside your CLEARCOAT, not paint.
Look at new white car, see red/orange specks? It's rust. Only method to remove is Clay bar.
Wash your car and run your hand through the surface with a plastic bag. Feel the bumps and whatnot? Time to clay bar the sucker.
Carnauba is a type of wax from tree's. It gives a darker car a depth color to it. If you have a bright colored car, you should get another type of wax... forget what it was called.

If you're extremely obsessive, I'd stay away from the plastic bag, as it makes your fingertips SUPER sensitive. Just use your bare hand to determine whether or not you need to redo that area.

all done by hand or did you use a polisher? will polishers leave swirls on your car?
Answer:
Poorboy's SSR 2.5 and 1.0 applied with an orbital buffer will take out almost all swirls and minor scratches.

Answer:
how often should you wash/polish/wax your car?
Answer:
i can personally vouch for zaino, their products work amazing if you do it right (which isn't too hard to do at all).
-use some liquid dawn (dishwasher soap) and wash your car with that to get rid of the old wax before you start doin anything.
-use clay bar to get rid of contaminents (it really does help in the long run).
-use zaino z7 to wash your car again.
-use zaino z2 +zfx after the car dries as the wax.
-i'd prolly put like 3 or 4 coats but that depends on the enivornment and how polished you wanted it to look (3 should get you really really great results) and you should use zaino z6 inbetween layers of wax
this should get your car looking really really nice and should give you adequite protection for 6 months to a year (depending on the weather and stuff)
all this is kinda expensive but depends on how much of a car fanatic you are so thats just my 2 cents
