Answer:
Why is it that everybody is in a RUSH?? I'll be driving on the highway or something, doing 65 or 60 and everybody starts cutting me off and flying at like 90mph. Or they start beeping when you're doing 35 in the suburbs! I just don't get it. Everybody gets pissy because you're following the speed limit.
What lane are you usually in on the highway? If your on the passing lane just cruising at 60-65mph I would get very pissed too.
Answer:
well they only go that speed when there is a cop near by ... o_o not all the time ppl speed like crazy o_o its life live with it
Answer:
People drive like maniacs in my area.
Btw, I live with it everday.
Answer:
This may be a rant, but I can't be the only one who seriously gets annoyed by this.
To start off, I AM a new driver, I can admit to that. I'm not super experienced or whatever, but I can say I drive well.

Or how about when a bus stops and you're on a no passing road. Everybody just starts cutting the bus off and if I stop behind it, everybody starts catching attitudes.
I don't pay them attention though, it's not worth it. If they hit me in the back, it's their fault...
Or it could be because I live in Bergen County. There's ALWAYS traffic.
once you been driving for years and must go in a rush, you'd understand. it just comes to mind instinctively and sometimes some measures must be done.
but i do agree there are maniacs once in awhile... myself included.
Answer:
^ That's what my friends tell me.
Your mind is just programmed in rush mode from work, stress, ect...
Slow drivers really irk me, but when people seriously go over the speed limit, that's when I get pissed. I usually push 70mph on the highway, but I rather just stay the limit or go with the flow of traffic.
Answer:
Ah so you're in Jersey.
Here's the thing. People in Philly/Jersey/NY, if it's a highway people are definitely gonna go about 80-100.
SOOOOOO many people do it that it just became normal. My time that I've lived in Philly, I've never seen anyone pulled over for it either. They need to crack on that.
It's ok to go maybe like 75 if your limit is 65. Or if you want just stay on 65, don't let people change your groove just because you've got some pressure! A lot of drivers in those areas are @zholes, they all think they have somewhere they need to be right away and they're impatient.

EXACTLY my point.
I used to live in Fort Lee and that was intense as hell. Everybody coming in and out NY all the time, grid locks for hours, rush hour...
It'll probably be much easier to drive in other states.
Answer:
The last thing you want to do is aggravate these drivers. So even if they rear end you and its their fault, the last thing you want to happen is a accident. A rear-ending can seriously injure or kill you and your passengers. Do the mature thing in this situation, if they are tailing you (because you're going to slow), just go to the slower lane or pull over.
I've been driving for a while now, and I can tell you that i've been of both sides, and as a new driver once, there is so much to learn. Sometimes, actions that you do (not necessarily speed related) can result in slower traffic, a accident, and even road-rage against you. Sometime I do complain about drivers who do stupid things, slow traffic down (intentional and otherwise), and actions that endanger other drivers (think about it carefully). Sometimes i even make remarks about giving licenses to the dumbest immature drivers (regardless of age or gender). I've been driving for a while now and all I can tell you, is that just live with it now and sooner or later, you'll know the REAL rules of the road.
EDIT: Its not just about you, you have to think about how you affect traffic, safety of other drivers, etc.

lol i think the same thing, but i gave in and became 1 of those always in a rush people
i was in my friends car the other day... the speed limit was 50 on this local highway we were looking for some store and i told him to slow down (he was going 60s) because we might miss it.. he responded with but 50 is the minimum!
so it seems people these days think of the speed limit signs as the speed minimum signs, not limits anymore xP!
but yeah the best thing to do would be to just let them get by you, dont try to piss them off or go faster than what you think is safe
Answer:
some crazy drivers up in the bay. some suv highbeamed me when i was doing 80 ish on the carpool lane.

lol in a situation like that I put on my hazard lights, but what I do is let it blink once, and then turn it off.
They think you hit the brakes and they stop...
you can check out your rear view mirror and see them fall back some, I think it's funny.
Answer:
ehhh.... maybe their late or something? cuz i only speed up like that when it's an emergency... I usually wake up really late for school and i have to rush there.... ;;; i can't hear my alarm clock....
Answer:
Let me guess, the highbeaming SUV was driven by a German?
In Germany, the Autobahn highways (where in a few stretches, there are no speed limits), if someone is going to slow and somewhat blocking or hindering traffic, the common way to warn them is to flash the highbeams to get their attention, usually telling them to get out of the way.
Also if you drive a european vehicle, chances are, you have a rear fog light. Enabling the rear fog light, causes one brake lamp (usually the driver side) to light up, thus acting like a illuminator in the fog or harsh enviroments so the other drivers can 'see' where ur car is. Well the fact is, lots of people here in America have no clue about this rear fog light, because very little if none, american and japanese vehicles don't have them.
To the unfamiliar, it looks like someone is pressing the brake, but also looks like the other brake bulbs burned out. Usually when most people see a brake lamp light up, they slow down or slam their brakes. Guess what I found this to be quite effective for tailgaters, because all I have to do in my car is flip these on, watch my rearview mirror as they slow down, and I hit the gas speeding off, with a illuminated brake lamp! LOL!!!! I love seeing their puzzled reactions...
Answer:
it's like that pretty much wherever you drive down here in southern cali... basically 2nd to left lane is for the fast cars (70-80mph), and the very left lane is for speeders doing 90+.
long time ago driving was supposed to be a pleasant cruise through the town with wonderful scenery surrounding you. (think arroyo seco parkwayin L.A., very first freeway).
now it's like a blood-boiling, tension-rising, temper-raging activity when you're on the highway... especially during traffic.
i need a helicopter
Answer:
I am not entirely sure, but I read somewhere that flicking on high beams quickly to signal you want to pass is perfectly legal but there are limits to how close you can be to the car ahead of you. Don't take my word for it, but I think it was a written rule that many don't know. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Anyway 65 is the speed limit, but that is not always the speed you should go. Go with the flow of traffic. If people are on your tail and you are in the lane other than the merging/slow lane, move over into the slow lane. Don't be mad and get road rage, there is no point in getting mad and get used to it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)
If you are in the slow lane and they still tail you, just drive as you normally would. They have no business driving so fast in that lane. The people that are in a rush should also know that the slow lane is too dangerous to speed in.

Yeah once you live in the bay area you never complain about driving anywhere else, too many asian people ;P Anyways my theory is that if you aren't passing anyone move over to the correct lane, the far right lane. That's what causes traffic jams, if everyone is matching each others speeds then no one can move over to get off the freeway which leads one person to press on their brakes which leads the person behind them and so on and so forth. It's actually in the lil handbook that the left lanes on the highway are passing lanes sooo yeah. You learn to not get so bothered by it.

That should be right.
On my way to Vegas I switched lanes in front of a huge truck, he caught up a little later and I slowed down cause of the car in front of me. He flashed his high beams like hell.
Well in that situation, it's cause the truck can't brake as fast as every other car so they need you to get out, or you get hit! But if a truck can high beam, why can't anyone else?
Answer:
I actually think norcal drivers are a bit slower as compared to socal. A lot of my friends that went to college down in socal came back on break and complained that norcal drivers drove really slow, they said the tops were 80's but in socal it hits 90's. I went down to LA for NYE and they were right, LA drivers are maniacs.

well.....time is money. and rushing saves time, so in essence..it saves money.
and ANYONE would be lying thru their teeth to say they're oblivious to money.
