Answer:
Wussup?!
true. but thats not what he asked. he just asked WHAT CAR SHOULD I GET? besides....its a package deal. and we all know, thats just the way thing are and ever will be. if you want a Pantera-its going to be EXPENSIVE and suck gas. if you want a geo metro-its going to be cheap but plan on leaving to your destination REALLY early... anything in the middle is pretty boring.

Between those two, i would get the civic. more horsepower and better fuel efficiency. i would only go for the matrix if i needed the cargo space. but then again, i would rather go for something else like a mazda3 hatch instead of the matrix even though the mazda3 gets worse gas mileage. The top choices for an economy car under 20k would be the civic or corolla. other competitors are the sentra, mazda3, lancer.. the two i would consider are civic or mazda3.. civic being more economical, and mazda3 being more fun to drive and more cargo space (with the hatch)

Honda S2000 but get the AP1 (2000-2003) because it has a 9k redline if you can help it get the 2002 because it has the leather wrapped shift knob, tweeters in the doors, and a glass rear window with defrost. Most of the problems where worked out in the MY02. It only comes 6 speed so...yea.
Very tossable car, its a honda so its very reliable. 240hp on a 4 cylinder engine. Convertible, 2 seater, rwd, hid's, digital gauges. Only downside is you cannot rotate the tires, no traction control or anything like that, better not have more than 1 friend that needs a ride, stiff suspension so uncomfy for long drives, sucks in rain and don't even think about driving when it snows.

Get an e36 m3 =P 95s are as cheap as 10,000. torque-y, and handles well.
Type of car (sporty, luxury, economy, SUV): sporty/luxury
Price range:up to 20k
New or used: used
Manual or automatic: leaning toward stick? but with a sedan probably auto
Years of driving: 2
Cars currently suggesting: 95-99 e36 M3, 330ci, 98-99 CLK, c240/320 (2001-2003)
Needs and other info (do you need passenger room, cargo space, AWD, etc): uh always wanted an m3, but then again 330ci looks nicer/newer? clk's are in the same price range and newer for the same price, but then again for college, c240/c320 might be more practical, plus newer?
Answer:
^ the s2k sucks in the rain ? really?
Depends on which tires but factory tires yes. The popular tire for this vehicle is the Potenza S02 and that sucks in the rain. Then you have the Potenza S03 which is good for like the first 3-4k miles because it has this small rain tread but once that runs out its pretty much like an S02.
But like everything if you have skill enough then you can drive this car all year round with all season tires as some people do on the s2000 forum

if you get an E36 M3 look for a 97 if you can help it, it has the updated nose, water pump, it also has the 3.2 litre engine where as the 95 has the 3.0 litre engine. I think the 99's will be over 20k but if you can find one in your price range because they are awesome. I believe they used a different type of leather that year as well as a 3 spoke steering wheel
