Question:
So the story goes like this..
I'm in love with my bf's car and I love the fact that I don't ever see it on the road.
Current problem (long story short): his friend who's into 'street racing' (just randomly racing whoever he thinks is 'challenging him' or whatever) crashed his car, and got a used Evo 8. His dad told him it 'looked too fast' and didn't think it was safe, and wants him to choose another car so they returned the Evo8. He was dissing my bf's car and saying how it wasn't a good deal when my bf told him it was, and now he's super bent on getting the it. Of course, after much discussion with many people (including my bf & his friends), we all think it's pretty gay for him to get the same car. His reasoning is that his dad thinks it 'looks safer' even though they're both four door sedan type cars.. But I guess I can see where his dad's coming from, sort of. (My bf drives a Mazdaspeed 6 btw)
Anyhoo, we have until June to convince this guy to NOT get the car, and he's 90% sure he'll get it unless he can get a NEW Evo 9 for under 26k, or something like this:
The car has to
-be a 'sports' car
-be not American
-be manual
-be AWD
-have decent HP (around the same as the MS6/evo 9 which is about 270-290ish)
-can't be only 2 door like 350z
-can't be the G35
-can't be 'too common'
-can't be a hatchback even though his TC was a hatchback... Can't look like the GTI or R32..
-around price range of $26-7 k.
So I need to find a car to convince him to NOT get the MS6. Cause his reasoning behind it is so stupid augh. And honestly I don't know why his dad would get him another car, he had a TC before and crashed twice.. My bf thinks if we all hang out together and he says oh man I'm getting a Mazdaspeed 6, I'll get pissed and say so you can do what? Crash it into a pole? And I think he's right, I would actually do that. I think I might be getting too heated over this but I really love my bf's car and yeah.. haha. Why don't you just let him get the ms6 and let darwin take care of him. It's not like the ms6 is going to be some collector car sometime this century. I use to envy people who get cars from their parents but nowadays i dont care because if i had parents like that id be pretty happy. So i cant hate just because i dont have parents like them.

actually i just happen to really like the ms6 haha and one of the reasons is that i don't see it much on the road, or ever really.
plus i think it'd be such a shame for him to crash it, which he will obviously do. i know it's not a collector car but i just have a personal affinity for it..
a4 would be a good choice except one of their friends also happens to have that. but i'd much rather see him with that than a ms6 haha..

Haha actually I used the word decent. I mean.. the MS6 is turbo, and I wouldn't expect a turbo car to be anything less I guess..

Anyways, your criteria for awd, under a certain price (I'm assuming it would be a new car), etc doesn't leave many options left. The only choice left is a standard wrx (easy bolton's for cheap will be faster for around the same price) or an STi limited edition (basically a sleeper edition of the sti), but will cost more money over a standard sti. You could tell him to get a Nissan Altima SE-R which is just as fast as the Mazdaspeed 6, but it's fwd. Or a Mazdaspeed 3 which handles really nicely and is just as fast and uses the exact same engine.. Or maybe a Subaru Legacy GT which is awd and turbo'd.
Or u could simply tell him that if u don't want him getting the MS6, tell him the engine is a FORD engine (at least I'm pretty sure it is since the regular mazda6's use a ford engine). Since he's put off by american cars, that should equate into the factor.
