Question:
Before I bid you all goodnight, a story I forgot to mention
I was suppose to have today off from my internship place to watch my goddamn game on my goddamn tv with my goddamn friends. But lo and behold, I was asked to come in for the afternoon shift. Right smack in the middle of the 3pm EST game.
So I go in, half heartedly, but I am seeing patients so I had to get it under control.
To some relief, the waiting room's T.V. is tuned into ABC-ESPN for the world cup and I got to catch a minute here and there.
Two punches in one day
1. First, the employees in the office knew I was korean and was rooting for the korean team. But we also have two residencies that are french and one of them happen to be on call. Massive 눈치싸음 and all kinds of tensions. Although we are both a huge fan of zidane, this is a game and expensive hospital food on stake.
2. France scores, residency cheers, I sulk in my chair.
3. Two seniors came in wearing korea again 2002, and I almost teared on the spot
4. 81 minutes, Park ji sung scores, 할아버지 cheers from the waiting room- happiest day of my life. Nothing more satisfying and warm then a 노인 laughing and cheering from the cold floor. I gave him alot of samples from the cabinet ^^. Call it favoritism or what you like, a patient wearing korean wc shirt and a senior gets extra loving from me.
5. The most important thing about this was, every patient that was watching that game asked me if I was korean. They were all just simply amazed by the FANS. The db level, the determination, they thought we are some crazy people.
6. Although a tied game, I can have a smile on my face tonight.
