I was just thinking, why do quartz watches manufacturers put "swiss quartz" on their watches? It's a quartz after all and the swiss are known for mechanical watches. Is there really a quality mark, or just a marketing ploy?

It's a quartz movement made in Switzerland. They are admitting it's quartz but trying to impress with the made in Switzerland part.

However the irony swatch is a great quartz watch for $100. But I'd never pay more for a quartz watch.
