Question:
I've just bought a H&M suit for about US$200. I can feel there's a third layer between the lining and the surface fabric, above the jacket breast pocket. So does it mean that it's half-canvassed or fully canvassed? Also, I should say there're many details inside the pant, eg. lining to the knees and little lining at the crotch area. It seems to me it's a good bargain.
Answer:
All coats have chest pieces, even fused ones. I can't imagine any of H&M's coats not being fused. But that doesn't make it a bad value -- slim-fitting suits are hard to find at H&M's pricepoint.
Answer:
Yeah it's funny but I was trying on some 34r's there today, the fit is spot on. Been going a little crazy looking at suits 3-4 times that price that don't fit as well. Go figure......
Answer:
Feel around on your jacket. Feel the material on the back, on the sleeves. Feel the material below the pocket, etc, etc. Now, do any of these spots feel thinner than another, in particular the chest area? They probably do. Now Dat's Fusing, Babay!!:slayer:
Answer:
the last time i was at H&M 2 months ago, their suit jackets were fused.
Answer:
there is absolutely no chance in hell that H&M suits aren't fused. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any major brand that sells canvassed (half or full) suits for under $1K retail.

You lose. :tounge:

sold as suit separates too...
Answer:
I stand corrected.
Answer:
They are all fused and cheap constructed.
But they are nice, I was at H&M yesterday and they had in the new collection two beautiful POW suits among others. They fit me and look great.
How I wish a brand ( or themselves ) started building decent quality canvased suits with their cut for less money. ( I ruled out fused jackets for me a while ago )
On the other hand I was impressed by the choice of accesories and things they sell on the H&M Man line, cufflinks, credit card holder wallets, bow ties, braces, pocket squares, gloves, leather keychains etc.
Inclunding the suits, overcoats, raincoats, two ply shirts, merino knits it is a great line for young, trendy and elegant guys.
All them in the low-cost/low-quality range, but I think they are doing a great service to the humanity putting that kind of things near to the younger generation at prices they can pay, this really helps to rebuild a sartorial and gentlemany way of dress for the future.

+1. I was always a bit snobby about H&M or Zara stuff. But I bought a chinese made H&M coat in the sales last year and it's worked out great, gets loads of compliments on its fit etc. A bit galling when the expensive stuff goes unoticed though:violin:
Answer:

Answer:
Zara had canvassed suits over the summer. I think they were about C$100 more than regular, so C$400 retail or so.
Answer:
Not really. $600 + $395 + shipping. Plus, a local store might well throw in minor alterations for free.
