Question:
This evening I was listening to the weekend sports roundup on ABC radio. The show is a panel show called the Coodabeen Champions, hosted by a group of sports tragics who love nothing more than their footy and cricket.
They spent the first 15 minutes of the show talking about pocket squares. :wow: They talked about who is wearing them, how to iron them, whether or not they should match your tie and how to wash them.
Hours later, I am still shaking my head in disbelief.
Answer:
were they right or wrong?
Answer:
I have fearlessly forecast a pocket square resurgence in Australia.
Answer:
People were calling in, so some were right and some were wrong. There was talk of matching the square to the tie and ironing it so that it had peaks, both of which I believe to be naughty under the rules.
What struck me was that the conversation was occurring at all, on an Australian sports show.
Spectre, I suspect you may be right. I saw a few in photos from fashion week and the races, and am seeing more of them around the CBD. Younger guys do seem to be wearing them a bit more. And there are fewer snorts of derision when I wear one to work.
