hi. i've just picked up a new tie. it's a skinny black ralph lauren knit tie, with blunt ends. i very rarely wear ties, so i'm looking for some advice on whether it's seasonal, or appropriate to wear year round. i plan on wearing it with a black chalk-stripe suit. the occasion being a semi-formal night wedding. any advice would be great. thanks!

A skinny knit is pretty casual. I wouldn't choose it for your purpose, but otherwise I wear them year round.
