Question:
$25 to repair my Cole Haan coat at Meurice Garmet Care on University and 8th
Answer:
why repair it if no one can see it? also, why not repair it yourself, since no one can see it? if you don't have the necessary equipment or have elephantitis fingers, i'm sure taking this to your mother or grandmother would be pretty easy as well.
Answer:
Since it's on a location where nobody else can see, it should have been perfect for you to practice sewing. Unless you don't know how.
Answer:
Wow. Practice sewing. On my 1200 dollar coat. Thanks guys.
Answer:
i hope i'm not repeating myself when i say, it's in a place where it doesn't even matter.
on top of that you're fretting over 25 bucks for an overpriced piece of cole haan?
and btw, it's in a place that doesn't even matter.
did i say it's in a place where it doesn't even matter?
Answer:
that's a lot of money for a cole haan coat. what makes it worth $1200?
Answer:
So if you are paying $1200 for a coat, why fret over $25 to repair a defect in a place that
-nobody sees except you, and then only if you really want to see it
-carries no functional problem
????
Ah, having relooked at your original picture, I notice a prominently displayed "Montblac" emblem. I take my original assertion back then. The tear is probably in a place that lots of people will see, so you'd spent wisely to have it professionally repaired.
Answer:
It's 1200 because it's not the wool/cashmere blend, it's 100% cashmere. Also, it was a gift; I would not have paid full price for it, I see these every year on sale at FB. (

And don't diss my Mont Blanc. I like that pen. It's usually there, I wasn't going to take it out just for the picture.
Lastly, it's the pocket where I like to put my wallet. Thus, if I don't fix it, the liklihood of ripping it more is fairly high.
Now. In terms of professional repairs, is $25 dollars too much?
Answer:
I edited it to add a link for all of you non-believers.
Answer:
If you don't trust yourself to do it by yourself, then Im sure you could find it cheaper somewhere else. Go to Saks, say you bought the coat a few years back and have an in-house tailor do it for you.
Answer:
Saks would do it for free?
Answer:
1200 for a Cole Haan, yes. 25 for repair, no.
Answer:
$25 seems a little pricy in my opinion. They probalby saw the coat and want to overcharge. The tailor I've been going to for a few years usually does sewing (as long as its minor) for free since he knows I'll be coming back with more business such as hemming.
Answer:
I would make a list of every tailor within 500 miles and go through the list one by one until you find one who will do it for $5.00 or less. Only then would I be satisfied. :spew:
Answer:
Let's not make a big fuss over this person's issue.
I think $25 is a bit high for that sort of repair especially since they're likely going to do a very conspicuous stitch to the lining.
