Question about getting a shirt copied . . .

Question:
When you send a shirt to a tailor to get it copied, do most tailors know they have to add a little bit on to each measurement as an allowance for shrinkage for when you wash it? Thanks.
Answer:
I'd hope that any tailor you trust to make you a shirt would know that.
Answer:
anybody else? is this something i'd have to specifically instruct a tailor to account for, or they would know it already?
Thanks.
Answer:
Just put a conspicuous note on the order form reminding them that the shirt has been washed several times, and they should take into account shrinkage. They should know, but it's easy for anyone to forget. Of course they will have to use their best estimates of how much fabric to add back.
