Comments on these 2 pairs of shoes ...

Question:
ok so I'm looking for shoes to pair with my dark denim, which are also G-Star (and yes I've already heard a mouthful about their quality in comparison to Japanese denim - over in Streetwear & Denim) .... neways, one pair is G-Star, the other is an Australian brand ... so brand names aside .... question is - will these look good with jeans??
.... hopefully these photos are going to show up!
Answer:
sweet, it worked!!! those are Windsor Smith's (they're not TOO square-toed are they?), and these are the G-Star's:
Answer:
I like the G-Stars, but then I'm partial to spectators. The shoes would give you totally different looks with denim. The first is kind of laid-back euro while the g-stars are closer to brit punk.
Answer:
ok so this is gonna sound so stupid, hahaha ... but I actually don't know what that means?! you're partial to spectators? care to rephrase? (or do you mean, you might change your mind after other members post?)

Answer:
Spectators is a style of shoe with contrasting colors on different parts of the upper / toe cap (I'm sure there is a more technical description saying which parts contrast in a traditional shoe). I also agree that they are the better choice of the two... something about the (slightly square) up-turned nose of the first makes it look too Ecco or KC.
Answer:
well you learn something new everyday :) thanx for the link!
Answer:
yea I had a feeling the subtle "squarishness" (I know it's not a word) of the first pair would put most you guys off! But like pretend you didn't see the G-Stars ... would the first pair work? I'm only asking because I haven't gone in store to look at these yet and have a BAD feeling that they are going to be like CRAZY expensive (well for me anyway) ... the first pair are $120AU.
Answer:
With the hem of the jeans over the top of the shoe you won't be able to tell if it is a loafer or a boot... so I'd say, sure, it isn't that bad. You'd probably get more relevant opinions on it in the other forum though (streetwear)... the Men's Clothing crowd won't take too kindly to them.
What is the point of up-turning the nose of the shoe anyway? Is it to lessen creasing? I've only seen it done on the brands we love to hate and never on a decently made shoe.
Answer:
ok sweet .... and who knows, if the G-Stars are actually reasonably priced I might be able to get both of them *in a perfect world* :P yea I was aware that these guys wouldn't be too keen.
I wouldn't have a clue why they up-turn the nose, but thinking about it now - maybe for comfort? instead of walking "flat-footed", your feet will actually swing (probably doesn't make any sense) .... I just keep picturing a rocking chair for some reason :P
Answer:
Just curious, how much are those G-Star spectators running, if you don't mind me asking?
Answer:
The first shoes' toes are a little too square, flat and spadelike for me, under jeans or not.
Answer:
you mean the price right? haven't had time to go to the store yet, tried calling them up - but the number won't connect! weird ...
Answer:
well just my luck!!! finally got the right number, gave them a call .... AND they aren't going to import the shoes to Australia!!! ARGH! so annoyed right now!!!
Answer:
