Question:
Hello all,
I've been reading through the forums and it has really been infomative. Looking forward to contributing.
I have a wedding to attend next week and was wondering what you all thought of the two suit and tie combos I'm considerding. I'm also thinking of picking up a pocket square to compliment. Thoughts? I'm open to any suggestions.
Answer:
Go with the first. A baby blue and white pocket square (even solid white) should work well.
Answer:
the first for me.
imo a white pocket square would do the trick as well
Answer:
Thanks for the input so far guys. Out of curiosity, is there a technical reason why the first combination would be preferred? Or is it more of a color preference?
Answer:
#2 for me
Answer:
I think the second is the best. I'm really not a fan of green ties.
Answer:
I like the first. I think the pink tie with a grey suit is a bit Wall Street cliché to me. Also, I tend to like more natural colors for wedding outfits, and the pink tie with the shiny stripes just seems a bit incongruous. Finally, the particular green complements the grey better than the particular shade of pink, I think.
Blue or white linen pocket square would be great with the first tie.
Answer:
chicks dig pink and weddings. wear the pink if you going solo and want to chase tail or the green if you are bringing sand to the proverbial beach
Answer:
#2 looks better IMHO
... where'd you learn to knot your necktie...
I never get all my ties to look like that when knotted
Answer:
Thanks you all for your input. It seems to be a split decision right now and very interesting points by Sartorian. That's fine because I was more concerned that I was not properly paring the colors and patterns with the suit, but it seems that the difference just comes down to color. I will definitely pick up a white pocket square.
Thanks djtracer21, I just self taught myself from website directions a while back... I don't remember the site... The knots are double Windsor, the pink tie had become a little loose when I took the picture.
Answer:
i dont think you can go wrong either way and its going to be a matter of personal preference....personally, i like #2 particularly for a wedding (but then again, ive never been a huge fan of green ties)
