Has anyone been to this? I missed the Vivienne Westwood on earlier this year. Actually, I have never been to the De Young before.

I went to American Chic when it was at the Met. I would say that perhaps she was more of a New York than National Icon it might not have as much of an impact elsewhere.
But, for anyone that is a fan of clothing and style it is great to go in and see the massive remake of her closet and some great pieces by Halston, Yves Saint Laurent, early Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, her Viver shoes, PT hats and then other pieces that she bought without the intent of wearing; but, to preserve for the sake of a fashion archive.

Bigger cuffs- big, wide, bracelets to you- are starting to pop up again.
M.R. was also a jewelry designer, as well as a model and many other things.
Also, Nan Kempner had an old money vision of the world. It's individuals like her -and her money- that have made the cultural world we enjoy today.
