Question:
hey people, I got a social function in a few days and I need to buy a shirt + tie to match this suit:

I'm not good with matching so your help will be much appreciated. I already have a gray shirt and also a white one with bold stripes, so I'm looking for something else. Will blue (light?) go with this? I also saw some blue shirts with white colar/cuffs and some vertical stripes, not sure if that matches or not.
What would look the most stylish? As for tie, I don't have any with diagnoal stripes so I was thinking one like that, but color would depend on the shirt.
Thanks a million
Answer:
Suit looks like its busy enough so avoid busy striped ties. Do a slight paisley or a Polka Dot or neat print or design.
Also avoid the bold striped shirt.

Answer:
Thanks Jonathan. What colors do you suggest for the shirt?
Answer:
I dont mind a light grey with a Tie that has a strong contrast, to add some life to the party. Without seeing the shirt/suit in person I would hesitate to say light blue.
Answer:
Thanks. I need to stay away from gray since I recently wore it with a gray shirt infront of the same group. I guess I could do white but I normally find it too boring. Any other suggestions?
Answer:
I think a solid light-blue shirt would be fine. Don't wear a striped tie.
Answer:
Thanks. So if not striped, do you mean dotted or with a neat print like Jonathan suggested? Also, what colors do you think would go with light blue?
Sorry for asking too many questions, I don't normally wear suits.
Answer:
Red? Yellow? Yes, dotted, or some other pattern that isn't a stripe.
Answer:
there is no problem with going with a striped shirt, tie and a suit alltogether..just the manner in how you do it. again, useless with pics.
