Question:
Has anyone else here given up on buying clothes online?
I've tried buying clothes online, and almost every time regretted it (except for a few accessories that I saw in store first.) With clothing, the fit is always off, the sellers tend to be clueless, and the shade is never what you see on your computer. I've just learned to accept I'm better off paying more in stores and getting it right the first time.
Answer:
Try buying from virtualclotheshorse.com. You'll change your opinion quickly.
Answer:
I've just about given up for all the reasons you have outlined. I am especially tired of people feeling they don't have to tell you that anything is wrong and that you, the buyer, must ask. Also, the NO RETURN policy people have is just to get rid of their garbage, it seems.
Answer:
I should qualify that my negative comments are due to "fleabay" experience and not STP, Shop the Finest or Virtual Clothes Horse who all stand behind what they sell. I have never had a problem returning an item with them.
Answer:
I assume you mean eBay.
I order from Polo.com, BB.com, etc. all the time.
Answer:
Never started.
Answer:
All in all I've been very happy with ebay. I'd say 1 in 10 buys is a dud which is pretty good for all the money I've saved.
Answer:
You have skills, my average of keepers is like 1/10 on ebay.
Answer:
I've bought dozens of items from eBay and only had issue with a very few and I was able to recoup my losses rather quickly. I've had great experiences with our regular sellers on the B&S forum and the well known sellers who are members and with most of the forum affiliates (adverts at the top of each page).
Answer:
the main thing is YOU'VE gotta ask the questions, and not wait for the item to arrive to find out the hard way.
Answer:
never started. Doesn't seem necessary.
Answer:
I have no choice. I must shop online if I want anything. Where the only choice you have here in Guam is Kmart, Ross and Macy's which carters to the asia size tourist. I must shop online. I don't like it but have no choice.
Answer:
I thought guam was a savoury dip.
Yes, in such a situation , I suppose I'd do the same. Or buy my wardrobe on bi-annual visits to the west.
Answer:
I have to say that buying clothes from eBay has been a disaster for me - garbage.
2 EXCELLENT eBay sources I have used are -
English Classic Shoes run by Salsalocust, I have just taken delivery of a pair of Lowndes - a new and "rare" 348 last shoe, and paid £130/$260, delivered the next day, supposedly seconds but to my eye they have no visable faults. GREAT deal.
British Fabrics - huge range of suiting/jacketing yardage, quality is TOP and prices v low. Great service and whilst colour is tricky to judge they will accept returns.
Answer:
No, no, no, no!
Never, never, never never!
