Good or Bad?

Question:
I've been looking for a pair of casual loafers, and I just came across - http://www.eluxury.com/browse/produc...ctionID=60 00
the black ones in particular, so what do you guys think? Open for suggestions, ty!
Answer:
Ick. You'll find this forum is generally against items with excessive branding, such as a solid metal LV logo on top of a loafer where classic horsebits could be.
Answer:
i dont think there is anything wrong with those. if you are looking for a fun summer loafer and a LV brand name is fine if you dont mind the obvious excessive branding like Brian states,
but to pay $600 is the problem.
lot of LV shoes are very nice looking and very elegant. the new line that came out features an epi leather London derby formal shoe and a monkstrap counterpart that are very beautiful, very elegant.
they are made by stefanobi, but it is stefanobi's lowest line of make. they are , to the feel, not very substantial , although the epi leather feels as luscious as their luggage and handbags, the consruction is Blake .
the retail price is $895 , and i know L V does not discount or go on sale ever, so a blake shoe at $900 is not a good deal.
Answer:
You can find much better (and less gaudy) looking loafers for a much more reasonable price. If that big metal logo is important to you than you should buy them. If quality and class are important to you than I think you should hold out for a few other members to weigh in. For drivers like those you might want to look at Tod's or the Certo's that are sometimes on VCH (I love mine).
**Actually, I just went over to VCH and you could probably find much better shoes in a similar style for a fraction of the price there (also try STP).
Answer:
ty for the inputs~ yea, i'm looking for comfort and styling mostly! i've been looking at brands like Hugo Boss, Kenneth Cole, and S.Ferragamo, but only few stood out. Feel free to post any recommendations, ty~~
Answer:
Just my .02 cents,
I absolutely GAG looking at those loafers, particularly in white.
If someone wore those it'd be absolutely essential to wear a matching gold plated 20 lb necklace with matching rings on each finger. If they drove in to buy the shoes their would have the obligatory 23 in. chrome spinners.
Answer:
those are horrendous. just buy normal cheap ones from AE or clark's then add your own metal buckle via cowboy conventions.
Answer:
Very Eurotrash/St. Tropez. Not my taste, but you "need" the logo factor for this look, I suppose.
Answer:
Comfortable as hell.
Answer:
oh yeah, that's why someone would buy this: for the comfort.
Answer:
I wouldn't mind them in black, logo-less:

Answer:
I have to concur. Get some Tod's or similar if you're going to spend that much.
What's VCH?
Answer:
Hey it is input other than a critique about the styling.
Answer:
yea, I wasn't too particularly bothered by the logo since my jeans would most likely cover them~ I was looking at more Dolce & Gabbana ones, and they are pretty similar in terms of the logo pblm! Tod's seems like a good direction, though. Ty again!
