Question:
Anybody know of a cobbler that sells this style toe tap?

Answer:
I like those also, although I think a piece of the sole needs to be shaved off in order for the tap to not portrude too much from the shoe. I also heard that those are very popular in airport bathrooms.
Answer:
That toe tap will send your message loud and clear.
Answer:
LMAO Well done.
Answer:
Ahh!
So one then would not have to gesticulate with the hands. Great stuff. Protects the sole for the shoe, as an added bonus.

I had asked this same question when that was posted. I don't think I got an answer, meaning most likely no one knows, tried scouring the internet too, but didn't find anything that had nothing to do with tap dancing . . . :)
Answer:
I think there was a German web site that sold metal toe and heel plates. Now to find it....

Answer:
Heel plates like what Tarmac posted will make a hell of a sound when walking. Toe taps or toe plates does not make any sound, unless you are Astaire.
Answer:
I've got a pair of boots with the very same make of taps as these, unfortunately they're very thin and don't hold up very well. I much prefer the kind G&G uses.
Answer:
Not true for me. On every ascending road surface, every time you go upstairs, they won´t go unnoticed. And what is worse is that they will corrode in no time. You might want to try some nylon ones.
Answer:
I had metal toe and heel taps put on a pair of Chelsea boots and one time a woman asked why I was wearing tap shoes.
I also have nylon ones but they feel somewhat odd on the leather soles.
