Adding to the 'Business Casual' Look?

Question:
At some point in the last couple weeks I've found myself somewhat bored with the slacks and dress shirt look during the summer. Even with a nice shirt and pants and shoes, the look just seems to...blah to me. What can be done to add to this look? Anything?
All things considered I would prefer to go with slacks and a jacket or a suit, but when it is 85/90 degrees or more, that isn't something I can handle (give me 15 degrees any day :)).
Anyone have any thoughts on what might be done here? The only thing I can think of is a vest and I'm not entirely confident that this is a worthwhile path to pursue. I imagine I need to just suck it up and deal with it, but before caving I want to see what else might be out there.
Answer:
I think belts are an undervalued area of the slacks/shirt look, it does seem however that you need to spend an awful lot to get a quality belt. Apart from that cravats spring to mind and FC with nice cufflinks.
Answer:
Vest? Suspenders? Rolling up your sleeves? Tie Bar? Interesting cuff links? Spiffy Watch?
A combination of any of the above suggestions?
Answer:
The sleeves get rolled up often, and I'm not sure if, at 26, I'm ready for suspenders. Vests are the only thing I can think of, but wasn't sure.
Thanks.
Answer:
I don't think vests are a good way to go.
Really, with the basic business casual, it's all about the accessories. Shoes, belt, watch, ties (if you wear them). Why not invest the money in one of those areas?
Answer:
I think suspenders can look very good and youthful provided you pull them off right, it's all a matter a risk.
Answer:
Yea, I'm still on the fence there...well actually I'm on the "no" side. Was curious what others might come up with.
Thanks.

Answer:
I always though the rule is no cuff links without a tie. Otherwise you look like someone who's got no reason to wear cuff links.
Answer:
I'm not familiar with that rule. Besides, somes rules are meant to be broken (especially in August when it's hot).
I intend dressing business casual all this month (August) and rediscover my Italian shirts and sport coats collection. Lots of compliments so far! Today, I'm wearing flat-front gray Armani trousers, navy blue spread collar (barrel-cuff) shirt, lavender cashmere RLBL blazer, and dark brown Sutor Mantellassi shoes.
Answer:
Pastel cashmere sweater lazily thrown over shoulders?
Vest... not so much.
Answer:
A vest is unlikely to be practical in the summer, unless the office is cold (which rolling up sleeves does not suggest) and you'd only wear it there.
Why not experiment with shirt color and pattern? Maybe an interesting collar style, too.
Answer:
unfortunately only either older folks wear them, or teenagers who try and look cool but end up looking trashy.
