Short trip to Budapest visiting VASS Shoes

Question:
During yesterday's short trip to Budapest I used the opportunity to make a short detour into the Haris Köz 2, to VASS Shoes. The shop is quite manageable. The offers of shoes are mostly limited to the normal lasts, but if you have some luck you can find unique pieces in your size.
The saleswoman spoke english as well as german fluently. I was the only customer for some time, so I was able to talk with her for a while. She told me that made to order does not cost any additional charge. You only have to phone at the store and tell the salesperson, which leather/style/last you want. They mail the shoes after six weeks.
F and U lasts: 115.000 Forint ~ 450 EUR
standard lasts: 95.000 Forint ~ 380 EUR
You can pay with your credit card or cash. If you pay cash, you get a 10% discount.
The saleswoman also told me that the bespoke service of VASS costs about 600 EUR.
I took some pictures of the store front, but forgot to take photos of the inside.
Don't panic. It's a showcase in the city centre of Pest. Vass has nothing to do with the sports shoes in the right showcase!
I couldn't resist, so I bought this pair of half brogue oxfords in bordeaux (F last):

Answer:
Thank you for the great pictures!!! Your new medallion captoes look pretty awesome...
Answer:
Those are very reasonable prices. :)
Answer:
Thanks for the report. The prices are a good deal better than I thought they would be (and sick me even further over BG's markup).
My conversion is that for F and U lasts, it's about $625, and the standard lasts go for about $515. Maybe a trip to Budapest sometime soon is in order.
Oh, and very nice shoes. Burgundy is fast becoming my favorite shoe color.
Answer:
But you should have in mind that Vass does not have a big collection of styles in the F and U lasts. If you want standard lasts like Peter, Budapester etc. it would be definitely worth it.
How much are the shoes at BG?
P.S. Don't forget the 10% discount at the Budapest shop.
Answer:
Although I suppose that while they may not have much on the shelves, there's hopefully enough to figure out your size and then you can have something made to order?
I'm sure others will have better recollections, but I remember BG selling a U last wingtip oxford for $1200 or so.
Answer:
Nice looking shop, thanks for the photos!
Answer:
Wonderful. My wife and I may be going to Europe in the next few years (I'm cheap and want to wait until the dollar is stronger), and Vass is just one more reason to visit Budapest!
Answer:
Very nice shoes and thanks for the report.
Answer:
The "on location" reports are one of my favorite parts of the Forum. This one ranks as one of the best.
Killer F lasts, too.:slayer:
Answer:
very nice! what's the number to call them?
Answer:
One of these days... I can only imagine how badass it feels when someone complements your shoes and asks you where you got them and you reply "Budapest."
Answer:
Even better, you reply:
“I had them made to measure for me in Budapest” :)
Jon.
Answer:
i have to agree with you here too, also i seem no matter how many pic people take there still is not enough
Answer:
Caboodle's page
For anyone who is going to visit here, caboodle has great tourist info and one of the better lists of what's going on that you'll find
The last two girls I've talked to about clothes have both known Vass. I was pretty surprised, because you don't really see guys wearing them on the street.
