I want a special blue crocodile leather wallet for man.
I want to make a special order, and be able to choose the leather, shape, colour, everything.
I went to Hermes boutique in Milan, and I was told that a special order requires a waiting time of 18 months and a cost of approx 2.000€. But they told me that blue crocodile is out of their current collection.
Then i went to Bottega Veneta. They are more flessible. They could make what i want. Waiting time: 8 months, price approx 1.000€.
What would you suggest that i do?
Could you suggest me other luxury brands?

I'd say forget about the luxury brands, find an artisan and he'll make it for you, just as you want it for 1/5 of the price and in 1/5 of the time.

Haha. I actually got a dark blue genuine croc wallet with the insides in blue leather.
Cost me less than 100 Euros. It aint branded. I guess you can sell its by artisans.

+1. What you mention is definitely the route to go. A $500 wallet from an artisan will really be a $500 wallet. A $500 wallet from a luxury brand will probably be a $150 wallet with $350 of "branding."

Oh yes I almost forgot.
Many branded croc wallets are not real croc leather. It just has patterns on the leather. Notwithstanding that they charge you more.
Overtime the not real croc leather will become smoothened out and you have a wallet that looks like someone sandpaper over it.
A branded croc wallet will be very very expensive.

IMO, the French are a step above the Italians for leather goods.
Duret will deliver Hermès quality for significantly less cost.
