Question:
A Belstaff store has just opened near me and whilst out Christmas shopping I called in without really knowing anything about the brand. The jackets were IMO absolutely phenomenal. The leather was incredible and the designs, although many based on designs from the 70's,seemed really unique.
On returning I looked them up on the web and it seems they are very popular with the Hollywood crew and have been used in many recent films.
The trouble is the prices match the quality(most leathers around the £750 mark) so I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on them:will they stand the test of time or are they a passing fad etc..
Answer:
The prices may only get worse. Belstaff did a big placement deal with "I Am Legend". Will Smith's jackets and bag are made by them.
Answer:
The classic versions have been worn since the 60's and Steve McQueen, so they will stand the test of time and the quality is excellent. I'm quite fond of the Belstaff Panther myself.
Answer:
Where can you buy Belstaff in the US? I've had no luck finding it so far.
Answer:
Bloomingdales has Belstaff.
Also, someone in the know told me they paid Leo a cool million a year to wear the jackets. The marketing is keeping up with the quality for now.
Answer:
Hope we are all aware that they are paying for this
Answer:

Answer:

Does anyone have an idea where one can buy Belstaff in Paris? I was talking to a friend about this just a few days ago.
Thanks in advance.
Answer:
benecios, why not try one on at the store in your area and buy online-- especially with the way the pound is royally thrashing the dollar, you could get an incredible deal. I saw a few styles today that would cost you next to nothing (even the used jackets look damned good). If I were you guys in the UK, I'd be looting the USA for all I could get while the gettin is good!

I've been dillydallying about buying a trialmaster from BMG for a couple of years now. It looks like they've pretty much sold out since I Am Legend came out. Whoops! That was the last of the original British made Trialmasters.

I've used the Mercury riding year-round for 6 yrs in Boston and DC. Tough stuff.
I think they were bought by Prada or someone like that a few years ago and turned into a fashion brand. Got my jacket from the guys posted by The_Foxx:

They're selling the old stuff, I believe, and have limited supplies of it. Wish they had the Excelsior in my size. They have the Barbour too. Great customer service.
Answer:
Maybe I am being naive but this article would suggest otherwise.

Answer:
Ugh. I hate when hype pumps up a classic product like that. Look at the prices on ebay now.
I might settle for the Barbour. I tried on a RL Rugby fake Trialmaster with some fake patches on it and crap and it looked surprisingly good. I don't care so much about/for the Belstaff name anymore especially now that it's being hyped and hawked so much. No sense in paying 2x what it used to cost to look like you are following a celebrity trend.
Answer:
I really like Belstaff Jackets. There was one model in particular - a reissue of a 1930's motorcycle jacket - which I thought was amazing.
